Especially so for M/F pairs because of compulsory heterosexuality and the expectation of romance as a default for them

Every team has a naming theme. Marian’s team members are all named after berries. In Whinter’s case, he’s named after whinberries, which is alternative name for European blueberry. (which is also called windberry. Amazing how things just work out sometimes)
But he was also born on December 21st. So in world canon his parents named him after the season too
