Customized A280

Famously carried by Cassian Andor, the CFE is a modular variation of the Blastech A280 rifle. Similar to the A180, the weapon is essentially a blaster pistol that can have different barrels, stocks, sights, and other components attached to allow it to suit different roles- automatic rifle, pistol, sniper, etc.

Due to his role in the Rebellion being split between intelligence gathering and more active combat engagements, Kain carries the CFE for it's "Jack of All Trades" capabilities. Switching it from a pistol to a rifle depending on the mission is much easier than carrying one of each, though the Fleetfyre does have a number of blasters stored aboard just in case.

If the blaster has a downside, it's in its size and complexity. The CFE is quite large for a "covert" weapon, about the same size as the DL-44. This isn't a problem in areas where carrying a weapon is common, but there's better options for concealed weapons. It's generally preferred by intelligence agents that still want something with stopping power, such as Kain himself.

As for the complexity, having a weapon that can do it all comes with its drawbacks. The pistol is about on par with most others when it comes to reliability- issues that would lead to the weapon failing to fire, breaking down, or exploding like a cheap stub-blaster are rare. When switched into other configurations, such as the blaster rifle, it becomes slightly less on par. Bolts jamming into a part of the barrel is not an uncommon issue, and the weapon can fall apart in the wielder's hands if not properly cared for.

Still, a very versatile weapon for a variety of situations.
