I’ve seen a couple people say that 9A is a radfem, or that 9A’s ‘woman list’ is gender essentialist. I think think that’s dumb.

Imagine someone you hate has spent decades pointing to data about how blonde people and people over six foot get promoted more in the workplace, and about how our base instincts make it so blonde and tall people will always have an advantage no matter how society is organized, it’s just human nature. And also this person has been pulling strings behind the scenes, manipulating things so that there are even more blonde and tall people being put in positions of power, and they insist that once society is destabilized our fates will all rest on the whims of a bunch of blonde and tall people, and we had better just accept that fact because it’s inevitable!!

But after the world is actually atomized and cast into chaos, you realize that actually, the movers and shakers have had a wide variety ofheights and hair colors the entire time! Yippe! The asshole was full of shit! And you list some examples of *various* heights and hair colors as examples.

I think Mycroft agrees to a degree with Madame’s thesis about men broadly floating to the top of most power structures. That’s why to him, Papa and Martin are men. 9A holds the more normative view of gender, and is taking a moment to gloat that this terrible lady and her weird sex cult ideology appears to have nothing backing it up when faced with reality.
