In contrast to its predecessor with air cooling, the 996 GT2 is a model variant of the 911 built exclusively for road use, but it also has many features derived from motorsport. For example, it already has a chassis mounted on unibal joints that can be adjusted in height, toe and camber. In addition, the 996 GT2 was available as a Clubsport version, just like the 911 GT3. It was the first Porsche to have carbon-ceramic brakes as standard equipment.
