Early 911 and 912 heater slide vent block off caps. I made these one-off caps to cover the floor well heater slide vents since they weren’t being used. This specific car is a 911R tribute with no interior so a simple design worked out. They mount in similar fashion to torsion bar covers. Took measurements and made a template. Cut out a hammer form and shaped 3003 .063” aluminum over it. Prior to that I annealed it and kept the heat on longer by accident but it ended up creating a neat cast texture. I ended up liking the look so I left it. Used a die I made years ago to Finish off the mount bolt. Made the nut plates out of steel for strength and used an aluminum torx bolt which I believe came off of a GT3. Had fun with these. 964 & 993 tunnel cover repair. Sometimes with certain short shift kits, it’ll require you to hammer/bubble the tunnel cover so the shifter doesn’t bottom out. This customer recently switched over to our short shift kit which doesn’t require any tunnel cover modifications/bubbling/hammering. With that being said, we wanted to repair their tunnel cover so he doesn’t high-center on speed bumps etc. Started out with hammer and dolly-ing and using an English wheel to get it somewhat flat again. We don’t have a deep flanging die for our bead roller and we don’t have a Pullmax so I made some quick forms to use in our press. This got it pretty close to factory shape. Joshy Robots G50 shift knob meets Sleepers Short Shift Kit. Task was to fit the @joshyrobots 917 broke deck (this one was made for a G50 shifter) shift knob to our shifters. We didn’t want to risk damaging the shift knob by chucking it up in the lathe so we machined an adapter to fit the two together. Not sure if we’ll switch to a machine finish shifter or anodize the adapter black yet. Seems to work.
