A journey through the camera lens of my life as a 96.9 Radio Humber Student!!
It all starts off with me waking up every morning to a beautiful view of the "The 6." Watching the sunrise from the 20th floor, helps me jump start my day!
Every morning I dread taking the 191 bus to Humber College. But, the one view that I enjoy looking at once on campus is the Humber-Guelph staircase. Every time I look up, I think I'm on the "Stairway to Heaven."
As I make my way down to halls from Humber Guelph to the L Building, I have to admire the "Radio Humber" graduates who are on the wall of distinction. One of my goals in life is to have my name & face added to it.
Once in class, I need my morning cup of tea in my "99.9 Virgin Radio" red dixie cup thermal. One of the perks of being on a Street Team at a Radio station ... the Free Swag!
In one of my class, we learned the history of Radio & how it all started. It's crazy to think that, if it wasn't for inventors/creative minds like De Forest, Armstrong & Sarnoff, we might still be communicating with each other via "Morse Code."
Sometimes, in-between classes I sit in lounge area of the L building listening to my fellow classmates who are live "On-Air." Every so often, I regret not pursuing the Announcing pathway.
With 4 pathways to choose from, my one & only weakness as a Radio Humber student is "Production." I honestly have to give credit to my fellow classmates who have helped me with all my board-op & Adobe Audition problems.
With all the homework I've gotten, I believe me & the "mic" have become best friends & worse enemies. With all the late nights & early mornings, I think we should just make a bed in the corner of studios L102/L105.
As my day winds down at 96.9, I make my way down the "hallways" to the front of the school so I catch the 191 bus back home to Kipling Station. It's the part of my day I so look forward to!
Once I step inside my nice & warm apartment after a long day at Humber, I relax by lighting a "candle," and reflecting on my life as a Radio student, & my goals for the future.
This is my daily journey through the camera lens of my life as a 96.9 Radio Humber Student.
