Newly licensed community radio station Hot 91.9fm has confirmed the launch date as Monday 17 November 2014. In a statement from Hot 91.9’s studio complex in North Riding, Johannesburg, station General Manager, Lloyd Madurai says “We are excited about the launch of Hot 91.9 and would have loved to be on-air sooner. However due to technical delays, out of our control, we have decided to postpone our on-air date to 17 November. This will ensure Hot 91.9’s transmission quality is not compromised in any way.”
Madurai thanked the fans of Hot 91.9 and media for the positive response toward the station as well as thanked local businesses for their continued support and encouragement. Madurai says ” Hot 91.9 will continue with in studio dry runs and start test transmissions up until the on-air date.” Hot 91.9fm will launch at 6am on Monday 17 November 2014 with “Joburg’s Hottest Breakfast” with a celebrity lineup featuring Darren Scott, Jeremy Mansfield, Andi Leve & John Walland.
