looking on Twitter it’s p obvious the effort didn’t correlate with the payout. there were ppl holding up the BLM signs but definitely not 500 of them. like, this person put in a huge effort to make the posters and a very minimal amount of people followed through with it even though pretty much every fan project has had a good turn out at concerts. except this one... wonder why... el oh el.
it’s funny bc like, people were upset the first time he bypassed a bi flag and no one said ‘well YOU KNOW harry supports bi people, why are you even making posts about it?’ they said, ‘oh hey your time will come! he’ll notice it! don’t worry!’
but with this? ‘why are y’all making a big deal out of it--’ ‘you know Harry supports you why does it matter--’ ‘people WERE doing it, just because you didn’t think there were enough --’ ‘people probably forgot --’
that’s the biggest issue here.
the ISSUE is that white fans are -- as always -- attempting to talk over poc who are sharing how they feel about the situation. that attitude directly reflects on the fandom spaces we all participate in. everyone trying to silence fans who are hurt by this, everyone saying people are overreacting, people trying to downplay it -- y’all are basically saying this fan space doesn’t give a fuck about poc or their feelings.
I mean, what’s new?! but uh, treat people with kindness, right?
