Lupita & The 3 Kings (5 Rabbit)
Brewery : 5 Rabbit Cerveceria Beer : Lupita & The 3 Kings Style : Quad / Quadrupel / Belgian Quad Variance : Brewed with Cherries, Candied Pineapple, Cinnamon, and Orange Peel
8.5 / 10
Damn, I seriously feel like because of this beer I might try and convert to Mexican. Can you do that? No? Oh well, it’s probably for the best seeing as who is currently our president and what’s going on in our country with immigrants right now. To be honest, I’d rather be white and drinking this wishing to be Mexican than Mexican getting deported wishing I was American drinking this beer. Basically, our president is a dick. Our nation is founded by immigrants and just because they aren’t the same race as they were when we were started as a country or when your family first came here, it doesn’t make them any less so let’s cut the shit. That’s enough on that issue because half of you probably already stopped reading this. This beer is inspired by a Mexican pastry eaten on Three Kings Day known as Rosca de Reyes which kinds of looks like what would happen if a bagel and a fruit cake had a sexy time love making session and had a super weird pastry child. A nice strong boozy dark fruit flavor starts things off with some candied fruit flavor mixing in quickly after with hints of that orange peel and cherry before closing with a smooth sweet mixture of all of those flavors with some cinnamon coming through to close things up. This is definitely a super interesting variation of the style and if you are just into great beer in general, pick this up and let it open your mind to what is possible with a Quad. For you newcomers out there this is definitely a great entry point into the style and craft in general because even though that 10% ABV is completely noticeable, the rest of the additions will have you coming back for more and more until Lupita on the label finally drops those jeans and let’s you see that fat ass. Salud!

Yodo Con Leche (5 Rabbit)
Brewery : 5 Rabbit Cerveceria Beer : Yodo Con Leche Style : Porter / American Porter / Imperial Porter Variance : Brewed with Milk Caramel and Costa Rican Coffee from Alberto Delgado and Roasted by Gaslight Coffee Roasters
9 / 10
Aye caramba! Holy shit I didn’t expect this beer to be this good but I am head over heels in love right now. Don’t get me wrong, from the description and the label I definitely expected this to be good but I just didn’t think it would blow me away like this. If you don’t speak Spanish or know very few words like myself, this beers name basically translates to “coffee with milk” which should have been pretty obvious if you weren’t so busy writing letters to your senator because the Wal-Mart signage is English AND Spanish which just isn’t god damn ‘Merican! The one thing I distinctly remember from Spanish class as a young pup was one kid writing “Tu madre es mojado” on the blackboard and getting caught by the teacher which if I’m not mistaken translates to “your mother is wet”. Needless to say we all pissed ourselves with laughter and the teacher threw his ass out faster than Pepsi can pull a Kendall Jenner commercial. Did you see that shit? It was a fucking train wreck and it made me so glad that I have incredible beers like this to drink instead of soda. Anyways, a nice caramel flavor starts things off with a little bit of milk chocolate and sweetness before that coffee joins in in a huge way making your mouth water with it’s bold authentic roast-y flavors before ending with a creamy smoky dark chocolate flavor with a little more coffee to close. This beer and 5 Rabbit in general has quickly become mi amor in just a few bottles and I am muy triste that this is the last one that I have because this one bottle is not going to cut it. If you love coffee or just want to taste a damn delicious imperial porter make sure you pick up a bottle or five of this because it basically checks every box on what you should be looking for and exceeds all expectations. This is a great buy for pretty much all levels of craft drinkers as long as you love your java so get out there, learn some Spanish, and fucking drink!

Chicago Beer Pass: More Lagers
Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago.
On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White are cracking cans of 5 Rabbit's Xicago. This is a great beer to be enjoying as the weather is starting to warm up here in Chicago. As the guys knock back this 4-pack they chat about Nik’s adventure in the suburbs to Black Horizon and Whiskey Hill. Brad talks about his experience of going to Night of the Living Ales, something neither of them have been back to for years.
With the spread of Coronavirus there aren't many events happening and it's likely good to avoid them for a bit. So, instead of talking about events, the guys share some old or classic beers that you might want to revisit as you're locked down at home.

Family, friends, and beer. What a great Sunday.
From 5 Rabbit Cerveceria
“Help us take a stance against bigotry, misogyny and ignorance this Saturday, March 12th at the brewery as we prepare for next week's IL primaries. Silence and complicity are no longer an option against the frontrunner for the republican nomination. We know we're small but our protest is real. Help us make it bigger! We will be bottling a very small number of Chinga tu Pelo 12oz bottles this week, and will have them available to you on Saturday only at the brewery. We will also (finally) have copies of our "Bullies aren't Leaders" poster. Don't forget to ask for your Chinga tu Pelo sticker, while supplies last. Stand with us against bullies who promote hate and fear.”
For those unaware of the story, Trump tower in chicago contracted 5 rabbit to make an exclusive beer for their inhouse bar.
Shortly after this is when Trump made his bigoted statements regarding latino people, either unaware or not caring that 5 rabbit was a latin inspired brewery.
5 rabbit rightfully severed all ties with trump, and chose to rename the beer for a proper way to protest
