"When Worlds Collide: Pavement Meets Sidewalk"

To start with, Beginnings and Eternal were a massive improvement with regards to the voice acting quality compared to the dub of the anime, of which you can find my thoughts on here. Everyone in general managed to capture their characters with more grace and far more strongly emote, but even specific things have been improved upon:

Madoka’s voice is consistently solid rather than starting off bad and evolving to just decent

I praised Sayaka in the anime’s dub, but she’s even better here, and sounds less nasally.

Homura sounds more her own age while still sounding cold and mature.

Kyoko does way better at sounding like an evil bitch and also a misguided innocent girl than she does in the anime dub. Both aspects are captured stronger and dub Kyoko greatly benefits from it.

Mami’s where there’s the least improvement from the anime dub, I think. Her biggest problem was poorly conveying sadness, and I don’t really think that was fixed in these movies.

Kyubey’s quite weird actually, because I think the movie manages to make Kyubey sound even more emotionless, which is a good thing, but they also sound a bit too high pitched at times? It’s not that big a deal though, and Kyubey’s still solid nonetheless.

Pretty much everything I said about the side characters holds true sans the part of Kyosuke having one line that sounded like it was delivered through phone-booth. The literal audio quality is far better in the movie dub than the anime dub.

But then we get to Rebellion, and I don’t know what happened, but everything’s just a little bit worse than the previous movies? Maybe it’s because Kyoko, Sayaka and Mami don’t really get much lines in the first place, but they just sound boring and underwhelming in this dub. Meanwhile, Homura’s actually returned to her problem from the anime dub of sounding just a bit too old, plus her delivery in many crucial moments is kinda lacklustre and boring. I was so hyped for “Ai yo” and I ended up very disappointed. Madoka’s still fine though, and Kyubey doesn’t really have the too high-pitched problem anymore. Nagisa’s voice is fine.
