Intel and Micron have a new brain child. It's a new way to store data and they claim it's denser, tougher, and faster than the competition. What's even more exciting is that it's already in production. Intel's new chip brings about the first new memory category in more than 25 years. There was a live keynote yesterday in which the companies announced 3D Xpoint, which is a new category of non-volatile memory that claims to be 1,000 times faster than NAND.
