A friend just backed it yesterday—almost a month after I announced it—which reminded me that saying something once or twice isn’t enough. If I’ve been repetitive lately, it’s because I know people are busy and it takes time to notice things. Maybe it’s not about being good enough, but about staying visible long enough to be seen. If you’re creating something and feel unseen, don’t take it personally. Keep showing up. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Finally showing you my contribution to the latest issue of Character Design Quarterly!! Issue 23 is already out and I’m so happy to have been asked to write a little tutorial about color theory and my own process of choosing the ideal color palette for my artworks.

As you may know by now, I’m completely obsessed with colorful designs, so I jumped at the chance of exploring this theme for this beloved magazine that has helped me immensely with my own art studies.

My work got printed in a lovely book and it feels great!

I was supposed to drop a sketch and in progress of my next Eldritch horror, the good ol’ Gol-Goroth - the big evil frog boy. However something much more important hit me today, as I got my delivery from the great people at 3D Total, a very important book for me - Sketching from the Imagination: Creatures & Monster. Not only it’s a cool, beefy showcase book packed with inspiration fuel, but the key part is that I there too! Honestly when it’s such a small thing, it feels like such a success. Just seeing my monsters in print, feeling that there will be a group of people around the world that will now see them as well, perhaps even like them... It’s invigorating, and it’s validating. Stick to what you love doing and sooner or later, with a smidge of luck and some patience, you will get noticed! Obviously I am far, far away from being great at it and I am studying animals anatomies and creature design quite feverishly, but I hope to constantly polish my craft and get really good at it in the end.
