Tbh I do mostly fanarts, and I don't have much experience when it comes to original characters (I hope I understood your question correctly). So I'm not sure how much I can help?

But overall I do get inspired from a lot of other mediums; films, art from various other artists, fics, etc. And I do try to find tutorials if there's something specific I wanna try out 🥺 I do a lot of studies too 😌

One artist that really inspires me is Eliza Ivanova actually, I'd say find the artists that you like and study their styles and learn how they do things and then incorporate those into your workflow ✍️🏻
