Partial Black & White with Buildings by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I loved the yellow-orange lighting inside the Silicon Laboratories Building I was walking by this one evening. The image though looked much better with a Black & White CEP filter added. I decided to use minus control points to keep the inside lighting and let the rest of the image come out from that.

Sunlight Shining through the Leaves by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Here I stopped to take in the sun as it came in and out behind the leaves and tree limbs. I waited for a moment when the glare might be cut down but still allow most of the sun to shine through. After some work on colors (mainly focused on bringing that out in the leaves), I used a Glamour Glow CEP filter. I felt that added a focus to the upper right most corner with the sun was and the leaf colors.

Leading to the Skies by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Here I was took a shot of the 360 Condos Bldg. I used some nearby tree branches to frame the edges of the photo for perspective. I wanted to use the building as a leading line as it went upward. The day had started out rather sunny with blue skies. In the next few minutes, it became very overcast. I then used a Low Key and Tonal Contrast CEP filters to bring out the colors and tone I wanted. I later used a Skylight CEP filter to bring out more of a feel of a sunny day.

classic austin by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I got the idea for this image from this one on Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/23434232@N08/5513161372/in/gallery-...). My initial focus was on trying to determine a location that might at least match the street feel of that image I found on Flickr. I decided on a nearby area around the Gables West Ave apartment area and then used the construction of new buildings off in the distance to help fill up the "space" to the right of my bike. I found this even more of a better space filling as a person happened to be walking by. I did some initial adjustments in Capture NX2 but later did a B&W conversion in Silver Efex Pro 2. I find the latter often does a better conversion to B&W. I also wanted more control over silver and paper split toning that I noticed in the image on Flickr. I then added some structure to bring out a slight grunginess to the image.
