Pennybacker Bridge by Thomas Hawk
In Austin, Texas, the 360 Bridge is one of those structures that will leave you breathless when you see how engineering meets nature. I was looking up at the volcano-like base of this bridge, and its sky-high arch extends right through all these hills covered in living landscapes all the way towards the river below. This enables it to look larger than life from a distance by framing extensive landscapes along the Colorado River below, unveiling full views of Texas Hill Country behind. From photographers taking shots during sunsets to people who simply like everything natural—sitting and enjoying calmness within the surrounding environment, every visitor coming to 360 Bridge would feel obliged to hang out longer, getting lost amidst the evergreen beauty that has made many fall for Austin’s scenic allure since times long gone (Rodrigo Collins, 2024).
