SWTOR 30 Day OC Challenge Day 22: Home
Day 22: Home
What does āhomeā mean to your OC? Where have they lived in their life, and who with? Do they want to go back?
Vassannaās definition of āhomeā has changed over the years. At first, when she joined the Jedi Order, she had a hard time adjusting to the idea that she had no set āhomeā -- she lived everywhere and nowhere all at once. She went wherever her Master was needed -- sometimes that was Coruscant, sometimes it was the Mid-Rim, sometimes just on a ship for months. Eventually, she grew accustomed to the āeverywhere yet nowhereā feeling and actually enjoyed it.
When Sanna was a teenager, she spent some time on Tython with other Padawans (before going out again with her second Master) and that became home-like, but she was getting close to the beginning of the Jedi Knight story in-game and well... things got a little busy then. The Defender became home, since she spent so much time there, with friends and crew. (She thought the name was fairly fitting, so she never gave it a custom one.) After her time in carbonite, the Defender became unbearably empty and silent -- she avoided as much as she could and never used it unless she needed something larger than a shuttle for whatever mission she was going on. Odessen became home.
Sometimes Vassanna wants to go back to the time before she joined Darth Marr in Wild Space, when things seemed simpler. She misses Kira something fierce and is concerned about Doc and even Lord Scourgeās absences.
30 Day SWTOR OC Challenge
A little catch-up cause I didnāt do it yesterday.
Day 14: Limits
Do they dedicate themselves to a cause or ideal? Why do they dedicate themselves? Is it they would sacrifice everything for? Ā Almost everything? What wouldnāt they sacrifice? What lines will they never cross?
Kalanti doesnāt have a definitive goal in her life, but she does enjoy helping people. She isnāt sure if she would sacrifice everything for a stranger or someone in need, because sheās never been faced with that decision.Ā
She wouldnāt kill anyone to save someone else; that is just going too far for her. It isnāt that she doesnāt care about that person, but she knows that if she killed someone to save them, it wouldnāt be right, unless that person was super evil or something.Ā
The truth is, in terms of choices, limits, etc, Kalanti doesnāt have set rules. She likes to take it day by day, tackling every obstacle how she deems it needs to be tackled.Ā
Natila doesnāt have a real cause or ideal, but she is extremely dedicated to her friends. She doesnāt know who her real family is and the truth is, she doesnāt care. In her mind, she already has one.Ā
She would sacrifice anything for her friends, even kill for them if need be.Ā
Day 15: (Canon) Choices
What choices do they make in the main/class quests of their game? Why? What is the hardest decision they make?
Iām not really familiar with the Smuggler storyline, so I canāt think of any choices she would have to make. Not only that, Kalanti doesnāt completely follow the Smuggler storyline, because she isnāt actually a smuggler; sheās an explorer.Ā
However, the hardest decision she ever had to make was to kill Skavak. Iām not sure why exactly she would have to do it (Iām thinking Corso was in danger or something), but she did and it has haunted her for ages.Ā
Natila doesnāt follow any of the class storylines, so I canāt think of any choices she had to make inside the game story.

Day 7: Fighting 1 ā Methods
Does your OC fight? Is your OC good at fighting? Are they self-taught or did they have teachers? Do they have a lot of combat experience? What is their fighting style? Do they prefer ranged combat or close combat? Favourite weapon/ability/move? Favorite way to kill?
To Hes, fighting is second natureāsheās done it all her life, to the point where it comes almost as naturally as breathing. Sheās not bad at it either, being able to contend with foes who most people would get their asses kicked by. Sheās trained with Sith lords, Jedi masters, clone troopers, freedom fighters, rebels, scum and villainyāif someone can fight, Hes has probably fought alongside them. In this way, sheās sort of like Samurai Jack; sheās learned from a ton of people, and sheās skilled with everything from blasters to lightsabers. Hesās preferred weapon, however, are her lightsaber tonfas. In many respects, theyāre what make her such a dangerous foeātheyāre not a common choice, for one, and many lightsaber wielders have trouble adapting to the strange design. Not only that, but the weapons are designed especially for defensive maneuvers, with only quick jabs and cuts as offense. This, combined with Hesās quick counters and constantly shifting stance, make it almost impossible to penetrate her defenses, and she often wins just by outlasting her opponent and catching them off guard (For a clearer picture, this is kinda how Hes would fight). As for fighting with the Force, Hes rarely ever does it anymoreāsheās tried her best to disconnect herself from the Force as a whole, so using it seems hypocritical. When she does, itās usually A) in a dire situation where itās absolutely necessary, or B) in a fit of rage. When itās the latter, Hes is at her strongestātapping into the Dark side, sheās been known to employ Force chokes and even Force screams before lashing out with her sabers, slaughtering anyone in her path. This was first own early on in her career as a rebel when, after a comrade of hers was shot by an Imperial officer, Hes went berserk and force-choked every other Imperial in the room except the shooter, whom she elected to decapitate instead. Of course, this is hardly Hesās preferred way of fighting. Rather, she prefers to defeat her enemies honorably and with a clear headāand, ideally, without having to fall back on the Force.
30-Day SWTOR OC Challenge -- Day 19
Day 19: Courtship & Friendship
Does your OC get involved romantically or sexually with anybody? When do they first fall for them or get involved? If they fall in love, when does it happen? Does the relationship last?
Friendships (for the aromantic and otherwise): Do they have a serious platonic relationship with anyone? How does it begin? Does it last?
Yuned'rar had met @calleoās Yxaxajj when he was 17 or so and they slowly became friends. Yuned'rar very much liked and appreciated that Yxaxajj gave him space, didn't push him to do anything, and respected him -- all things that he didn't have at the time and when he was especially distrustful of people. They were very good and close friends for a couple of years like that.
Somewhere when he was 19, Yuned'rar realised he had developed Other Feelings for Yxaxajj, who was dating someone at the time. When he figured out it was an open relationship, he confessed his love to absolutely no-one's surprise at all because he was the most obvious baby (no really):
For a short time it was a relationship between Yuned'rar, Yxaxajj, and two others. It became a bit strained and two left, but Yun and Xajj stuck it out.
Once things calmed down and they began spending more time on Tatooine and eventually moving there, Yxaxajj's long-time friend @rashkahāsĀ Rasejj came into the picture, reuniting first with Yxaxajj and then growing closer with Yuned'rar, too.
So, now they're a sweet, loving trio.

Day 13: Values
How does your OC define āgoodā and āevilā? āRightā and āwrongā? Do they bother to consider such things at all? What are your OCās priorities? Whatās the first thing they consider when making a decision? Are they Dark side or Light side? Somewhere in between?

Day 19: Friends As Family
Day 19 of the 30 Day Star Wars OC Challenge from @smuggler-captain that Iām doing with @lessdenied! Previous posts are tagged with #30dayswchallenge. Yay, I am back to my regular writing schedule!
This is another deviation from the questions-as-written, since Tehās personal history doesnāt follow the canonical in-game storyline. So instead! A little bit about Tehās feels on family, on friendship, and on feels themselves.
āWhat the hell does genetics have to do with family?!ā
Tehālaenās perspective on āfamily,ā and what that word even means, is non-traditional at best. After all, the people who raised her didnāt contribute any genetic material to who she is and who sheād become. As a result of that disconnect between biology and bonding, sheās never really bothered to distinguish between equally-meaningful relationships depending on genetics. She was adopted into the Vaāshuvrk family, fully and completely, and the bonds between her and her deceased parents and siblings remain a pillar of her sense of self.
As such, the idea of āadoptingā people with whom sheās forged a deep, lasting connection into the web of relationships that she calls her family is and always has been a core feature of how she relates to others⦠Even if she doesnāt necessarily couch it in those terms.
