So after re-designing Hes and Cerate, I thought itâd be cool to tweak some of my other OCsâ designs, too! Granted, these two arenât complete design overhauls like the others, but still, I like these versions quite a bit more than the originals.
Either way, hereâs Aychie and Brach Chu-Choâtwo former Jedi, a master and their apprentice, just trying to make their way in the world after Order 66. I really like how they turned out, so yeah, let me know if you guys like âem too! :D
Just as with the others, their backstories are below the cut:
In the years preceding the Clone Wars, Aychie was known throughout the Order as one of their most promising younglings. Bright-eyed and ambitious, Aychie spent every moment they could studying and practicing with both their Force abilities and their lightpike, proving themselves to be a great warrior and a wise student. They quickly rose to the top of their class and became a padawan early, and by the time they were fifteen (adulthood for a Chadra-Fan) theyâd already been granted the rank of Jedi Knight.
Around this time, Naboo was blockaded and invaded by the Trade Federation, and as the Separatists continued to gain power and influence across the galaxy, war seemed to loom ever closer. Aychie was ready for it, though, and in no time they were out on the battlefield, leaving a trail of destroyed battle droids wherever they went. Before long they were awarded the rank of Jedi Master, and from there everything seemed to be looking up for them.
And then came Brach Chu-Cho. A few years before the start of the clone war, only a few weeks after Aychie was made a master, they were assigned a padawanâa shy but intelligent Pantoran boy, who himself was only ten years Aychieâs junior. At first, the two butted heads; Brach thought Aychie to be brash and reckless, and Aychie regarded Brach as somewhat of a buzzkill. Yet as they spent more time with each other, they began to rub off on eachother: Brach became more outgoing and brave like his master, and Aychie learned to appreciate Brachâs intellect and skill as a strategist.
When the Clone Wars broke out, Aychie and Brach were given the ranks of General and Commander, respectively, as well as command over the 327th clone trooper legion. The two Jedi and the clones immediately bonded, and as a sign of respect the troopers painted their armor orange and blue, to match Aychie and Brachâs lightsabers. Together, Aychie, Brach, and the 327th fought in battles all around the middle rim, being known as one of the toughest divisions in their sector.
But then, Order 66 happened. At the time, Aychie and Brach were stationed in the Tarsunt system, aiding a local rebel group. When the clones received the order, they immediately turned and fired on the two Jedi, landing several shots on them before the Tarsunt rebels swooped in to cover their escape. Wounded and bloodied, Brach and Aychie fled, eventually making their way back to the rebelsâ base. They came up with a plan to fake their deathsâBrach set one of their shipsâ navi-computer to take off, after which he and Aychie hid farther off in a thicket of trees. They watched the ship climb into the sky, only to see it shot and vaporized mid-air by a Republic gunship. The two waited in the trees for another two days, doing their best to nurse their wounds from atop the canopy, before they were convinced the troopers thought they were dead. Weak from both hunger, lack of rest, and their still present wounds, they slowly made their way to the nearest spaceport, wondering how much longer they would survive this.
Of course, the two did survive. Over the next fifteen years, Aychie and Brach traveled across the galaxy, taking up careers as smugglers, bounty hunters, piratesâanything they could do to get money for the next dayâs food. Over time, they found themselves messing with the Empire more and more, and they began to find their niche as rebels.

What is your OCâs social status? Were they born into their status or did they earn it? What sort of education did they receive? How do they interact with people from a higher social class? From a lower class? Do they consider all equal or no? What does their status mean in the Empire and/or in the Republic?
In her younger years, Hes could be considered of a higher class; being a Jedi padawan and a commander in the GAR does tend to help one climb socially. She received an education worthy of both ranks, and it rewarded her great prowess as a strategist and military planner. Even then, though, Hes always preferred the company of commoners, scum, and villainy (at least they were genuine, yâknow?). Often, in-between missions or military campaigns, sheâd disguise herself and go hang out with the local rabble on whichever planet she was stationedâif you asked her, sheâd tell you Ryloth, Felucia, and Iego had the best rabble.
Now a rebel, Hes is somewhere in the middleâsheâs a hero to the poor, and a menace to the rich. While the Devaronâs Angels are primarily concerned with undermining the Empireâs military efforts, Hes has acted sort of like a âRobin Hoodâ at times, stealing food and supplies from Imperial encampments and giving it back out in the slums of Montellian Surat. To her, itâs a major injustice that the innocent Devaronian people starve, while the Imperial loyalistsâtraitorous sons âa banthas, she calls themâget to eat like kings, and so she evens the odds however she can. Of course, the Empire has a price on her head because of this, but this never deterred herâshe ainât gonna stop until all of Devaron is free.
What do they think about fighting/violence as a solution to problems? What was the first time they killed someone? What fight do they have nightmares about? Do they prefer to kill their enemies or do they try and show mercy? Do they feel proud of their kills or regret them?
Though fighting is second nature to Hes, in reality itâs never her first choice when faced with a problem. Rather, she prefers to evade enemies or, if she canât, she tries to reason and talk her way out of conflicts before they erupt. If diplomacy fails, then and only then will she resort to violence. Of course, this is assuming the best of circumstancesâif one were to get Hes angry or emotional, then the gloves are off.
Hesâs philosophy on killing is similar, yet less strictâif she has to debate whether or not to kill someone, itâs usually because sheâs already chosen to fight them, which means theyâve already gone and pissed her off. This is why Hes has no problem shooting or beating up on stormtroopers or imperial officers; they serve an entity thatâs already made itself her enemy, and thus she treats them as just another head of the Imperial hydra that she has to cut off. Now, that being said, Hes does prefer to be merciful when she can, especially when A) her opponent surrenders peacefully, B) she believes her opponent can be redeemed, or C) letting her opponent live would be a far greater punishment.
Unfortunately, Hesâs philosophies on murder are bred from experience. Thereâs one in particular that still haunts her: the first time she executed someone face to face. During the later years of the Clone Wars, Hes and her master at the time, Master Pong Krell, were stationed on Iktotch with Krellâs battalion. The soldiers were being taxed to their limits, and their frustration finally came to a head when one clone, ARC Trooper Deckard, tried to defect to the Separatist side. As punishment for his treachery, Krell ordered him to be executed, yet at the last minute he ordered Hes to do it. Heâd been trying to break Hesâs emotional streak, and it was his thought that executing Deckard, a long-time friend of hers, would harden her a bit. Hes refused at first, but Krell threatened to disown her as his student if she didnât comply, and fearing being alone once more, Hes finally agreed. It took her a full ten minutes to work up the courage to kill him, but finally, she did it. From that day on, Hes could never look a clone in the eyes again. More importantly, however, Hesâs moral code began to materializeâfrom then on, she was never going to kill anyone on any terms but her own.
So to sum it all up, Hes will fight and kill when she deems it necessary, but given the choice, sheâd rather take the merciful, diplomatic path.
Does your OC fight? Is your OC good at fighting? Are they self-taught or did they have teachers? Do they have a lot of combat experience? What is their fighting style? Do they prefer ranged combat or close combat? Favourite weapon/ability/move? Favorite way to kill?
To Hes, fighting is second natureâsheâs done it all her life, to the point where it comes almost as naturally as breathing. Sheâs not bad at it either, being able to contend with foes who most people would get their asses kicked by. Sheâs trained with Sith lords, Jedi masters, clone troopers, freedom fighters, rebels, scum and villainyâif someone can fight, Hes has probably fought alongside them. In this way, sheâs sort of like Samurai Jack; sheâs learned from a ton of people, and sheâs skilled with everything from blasters to lightsabers.
Hesâs preferred weapon, however, are her lightsaber tonfas. In many respects, theyâre what make her such a dangerous foeâtheyâre not a common choice, for one, and many lightsaber wielders have trouble adapting to the strange design. Not only that, but the weapons are designed especially for defensive maneuvers, with only quick jabs and cuts as offense. This, combined with Hesâs quick counters and constantly shifting stance, make it almost impossible to penetrate her defenses, and she often wins just by outlasting her opponent and catching them off guard (For a clearer picture, this is kinda how Hes would fight).
As for fighting with the Force, Hes rarely ever does it anymoreâsheâs tried her best to disconnect herself from the Force as a whole, so using it seems hypocritical. When she does, itâs usually A) in a dire situation where itâs absolutely necessary, or B) in a fit of rage. When itâs the latter, Hes is at her strongestâtapping into the Dark side, sheâs been known to employ Force chokes and even Force screams before lashing out with her sabers, slaughtering anyone in her path. This was first own early on in her career as a rebel when, after a comrade of hers was shot by an Imperial officer, Hes went berserk and force-choked every other Imperial in the room except the shooter, whom she elected to decapitate instead. Of course, this is hardly Hesâs preferred way of fighting. Rather, she prefers to defeat her enemies honorably and with a clear headâand, ideally, without having to fall back on the Force.
Whatâs in your OCâs pockets/packs? What gear do they wear daily (wristlink, communicator, etc.)? Do they normally wear armor? Do they always have a weapon on them? Is it always a specific weapon(s)? What do they carry around day to day? Why?
Being the outlaw and rebel scum that she is, Hes has to be prepared to fight and/or mess with Imperials at a momentâs notice, and thus she has tons of weapons and gear on her whenever she goes out. She carries the essentials, of course: a comlink, a few dehydrated ration packs, a pocket knife, some credits, etc. She also wears a certain necklace everywhere she goesâon it is a small gold medallion, with an engraving depicting a blind-folded Devaronian woman, hunched over, with her ear pressed close to a harp with only one string (Iâll explain itâs significance when I get to Day 30â˛s âPrized Possessionâ prompt). Of course, Hes does also carry items more befitting of a rebel; things like thermal detonators, extra ammo clips for blasters, scopes, flaresâanything she might need for battle.
The most essential item for a battle is a weapon, though, and Hes carries a great many of them as well. Going from her feet up, she carries a bowie knife in her left boot, a collapsible electrostaff in her right boot, a blaster pistol on each hip, a taser on the back of her belt, and an extra backup pistol wrapped up in her ponytail Yoko Littner-style. Her most preferred weapons, however, are her saber-tonfa, which she keeps clipped to her back. She rarely ever uses them in public, though, as they tend to draw unwanted attention from Imperial higher-ups, not to mention Inquisitors. In their stead, she also uses regular, non-lightsaber tonfa, but she doesnât really care much for themâitâs just not the same as an unstoppable glowing laser sword, yâknow? All this is carefully packed and hidden underneath her armor: a custom made set cobbled together from various soldier and bounty hunter getups.

Briefly describe your OCâs mental state. Are they neurotypical or neuroatypical? Do they have any mental illnesses or a history with mental illness? How do they handle stress? Are they Force-sensitive or Force-blind? Does this effect their mental state?
Hes was lucky enough not to be born with any mental illnesses, yet many things have left her scarred over her lifetime. Even after finding herself a happy home with good people, Hes still struggles with post-traumatic stress, which in turn causes her extreme anxiety. Sheâs lived through brutal abuse as a child, and casualties of war as a teenager. Sheâd been given hope by the Jedi and the Republic, only to have it ripped from her grasp. Sheâs seen countless friends and loved ones die beside her, and yet so far sheâs survived. This is among the root causes of Hesâs anxietyâif everything she loves gets taken away, what will be next? When will the rug be pulled out from under her again? Can she ever feel safe?
Not only that, but Hes struggles with guilt, albeit mostly unfounded guilt, over her connection to the Force. As she views it, it was the Jedi and Sith ordersâboth of whom she belonged to, and both of whom she allowed to rule her lifeâwho tore the galaxy apart in their selfish battle of ideals, harming and killing millions of innocents over something so insubstantial as the âForceâ, whatever the hell thatâs supposed to be. For so long she thought with their black and white logic, and for so long she helped both factions further their goals. It was only after getting to know peopleâreal, genuine peopleâinstead of magical cultists that she began to see the error of it all. However, anyone would agree that, in what sheâs done for Devaron as the rebelsâ leader, sheâs more than made up for her mistakes. Nevertheless, Hes still thinks the state of the galaxy is somehow her fault, and she carries that guilt with her wherever she goes.
But in spite of all that, Hes stays pretty chill. Over her years, sheâs learned to mask her insecurities, instead putting up a facade of confidence and nonchalance. Even when under stress she keeps a clear head, for she knows now that people are depending on her, and drowning in her feelings would just be selfish and unprofessional. As such, Hes rarely ever lets her feelings show, yet when she does it means A) she really likes and trusts who sheâs talking to, and/or B), sheâs really upset by something. She will of course be a little more open to people sheâs comfortable with, but to anyone else she appears hardened to the core.
Random OC Fact: My Kadran is a former Jedi. He didn't leave to join the Sith or because he 'hates' the Order for anything. If anything he thinks the Order has a lot of good in it. He just hates the way the Council is so damn stubborn and unmoving that they're willing to hurt people, even their OWN people, for a bunch of ideals.

Hes feels the same! In a lot of ways, she blames the Jedi as much as the Sith for the Republicâs downfall, for it was the Jediâs own arrogance and sense of superiority that allowed Darth Sidious to take power. Moreover, the whole black-and-white, polar opposite ideologies that Force users always seem to have is a major fallacy to her, since she sees the Force as more of a spectrum. Itâs because of this that she chose not to follow the Jedi or the Sith teachings after Order 66, instead choosing to all but give up using the force, save for desperate situations.
Talk about your OCâs species and demonym. A demonyn is the name for an inhabitant of a specific place, in this case their planet of birth, such as Tarisian (from Taris) or Mantellian (from Ord Mantell). How do they define their demonym? Do they have one? What influence does it have on their identity?
For Species: Do they have a sense of connection with others of their species? Were they raised with their own species or in a more diverse community? Do they follow any traditions or customs that are species-specific?
For Demonym: Do they feel a sense of connection to their planet of birth? Does the planetâs history and society effect them? Do they follow any traditions or holidays from their home planet?
For nearly all of her childhood, Hes never really got to associate with others of her speciesâtrue, there were other Devaronian younglings training at the Jedi temple, but Hes was often kept on a short leash by her masters, and she often wasnât allowed to become too good of friends with anyone. However, upon escaping to Montellian Serat, Hes began to develop an intense respect for her fellow Devaronians. In a way, she saw the planetâs occupation by the Empire and the peopleâs subsequent oppression as partially her faultâshe did serve the old Republic and the Sith, after allâand so she felt it was her duty to help them however she could. That, along with seeing Devaron as her âlast chanceâ at having a home, inspired Hes to immerse herself in the common peopleâs culture and customs, and sheâs grown to consider herself as one of them.
