Day 2: Write about 5 things you like
No. 1 - "Sorry, I'm hitting you with all of my change, gimme a wee sec to count it out" I can understand why someone would apologise for this but something I've come to love is the break you get in between your busy working day, waiting on someone to count out the correct amount of money to pay using coins varying from pennies to fifties. There's something really relaxing about the clinking noise the coins make when they hit off of each other.
No. 2 - I love being in the car with my boyfriend. Our journeys would be like any other if it weren't for the small things that he does to show that he cares. Despite not being able to get close to each other or even face each other, I feel it. I remember one of the first times I was in his car, we were on our way back from a drive-in movie, his hand was on the gear stick and soon enough, so was mine. After a few turns and clicks of the indicator, moving my hand back and forth off of his was getting annoying. He must have thought so too because it got to a certain point when he grasped my hand just before he moved his up to turn on his indicator and so too did mine. I really appreciated that. I told him so. He's never let go since.
No. 3 - I like to compliment people. Not for a returned compliment and definitely not for someone to reject mine. And it's not particularly because I like making people smile. It's something that happens before that that makes me happy. See that face people make when you catch them off guard with a compliment? That, 'Wait, what? Did I even put that on tod- *Looks down and then back up* This?' It's magic. You get people who dress to impress; who know they look great and who don't appreciate it as much. But then there's people that put things on without thinking, do their makeup the same way day after day out of habit, the people that are genuinely shocked and thankful for your compliment.
No. 4 - I'm not really fussed by surprises; things I have to wait for to find out what they are. For me, knowing then and there doesn't ruin anything. I still get the element of finding out something I didn't know, the surprise itself still comes around, I just don't have the annoying, painful wait in between. But there's one kind of surprise that I absolutely love and that's when foods you hate taste good. It rarely happens because the only time that I'm eating actual food that's not microwaved or ordered in is when I eat out and I'd never order and pay for something I didn't like. But the other month I was out with my work for Christmas and we had a hall at a hotel booked and were served dinner there as part of the payment we made. The menu was set and to start we had tomato and basil soup. Up until then I thought I disliked it. I did, for many, many years but I gave it a try and I absolutely loved it. Delightful surprise!
No. 5 - I love when you're thinking about something, say you want to watch a movie, and your friend next to you goes "Hey, you wanna stick a movie on?" I physically thrust my hand into my mouth, back out again and throw imaginary words at their face.
