So we all know that v!Owen killed 2799 people in his rampage after Louis was burned at the stake, right? Initially I thought he would always say the specific number because he counted and there's that whole thing with vampires being obsessed with counting.
But what if v!Owen always said that specific number for a different reason?
When talking about the population of a certain area, you usually round to the nearest hundred (or thousand, etc.)
What if he knew that the population of Oakhurst was 2800?
So he killed everyone in Oakhurst, except for one.
He didn't kill Louis.
