Okay. Who am I now?
Here are 25 things I learned before I turn 25.
Itās okay to set boundaries with family.Ā
Drugs/alcohol are all fun and games until you watch someone you love become someone you donāt know.Ā
God is REAL.Ā
You are not your past.Ā
Not everyone is going to like you, and thatās okay.Ā
Not everyone will believe in the same values as you, that is also okay.
Sex is such an intimate and emotional thing, even if you are justĀ āhooking up.ā Itās important to know that WHOEVER you have sex with you are giving a part of yourself to that person.Ā
Donāt be afraid to talk about your feelings.Ā
Donāt be afraid to ask for help.Ā
Donāt be afraid.Ā
Working out should be fun, and help with your self-confidence. Donāt ever compare your progress or your body to others; because first of all, EVERYONE progresses differently, and second of all, EVERYONE is there for the same reason you are - to be stronger and better.Ā
MENTAL HEALTH IS A THING AND ITāS IMPORTANT. SO IS SUICIDE, SELF-HARM, AND ADDICTION. @projectsemicolon829
Look for the similarities in others, rather than the differences. Youāll find that everyone is the same in one way or another.Ā
You are never alone. Even when you feel like you are, most of the time when you open up to someone you trust, youāll find that they are able to emphasize with you.Ā
Do not cast your pearls before swine.Ā
The opinions of others donāt matter. Most of the time whenever someone is talking negatively behind your back itās because they are threatened by you.Ā
Everyone has a story, so please try to be kind, friendly, generous, helpful, and grateful to everyone you encounter.Ā
Read something that is productive and beneficial to your well being.Ā
Even on your worst days try and find three things to be grateful for.Ā
Remember to take care of yourself too. However, that looks like if thatās journaling, watching a movie, doing a face mask, going for a leisure walk, calling an old friend, or listening to music.Ā
Forgive yourself, daily if needed.Ā
Celebrate the success of others, even if you donāt really know them.Ā
Thereāll be times when youāre up, and times when youāre down.Ā
That void youāre feeling is most likely a spiritual void. Find a church. Find Jesus. Find the love you have been looking for.Ā
You are where you are meant to be. Trust the process. You are not too late. Keep going. Youāre doing the best you can.Ā
