One of my favourite bits of car trivia used to be that Mazda were the only Japanese car manufacturer to have won the Le Mans 24 Hours. That was until 2018 after which Toyota won it five years in a row. Mazda's 1991 win with the 787B (and its amusingly named engine) pictured above on the Mulsanne Straight by Michael Turner. The drivers were Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler and Bertrand Gachot.
