New year, new.... name. I'm not personally a huge fan of #NYE but I do like the feeling of a fresh start. I've got a lot of reflecting to do and a lot of planning for 2020 so I decided to give myself the next week, heck even the next month to do so. But let's start with a couple of thoughts that hit me during #readysweatgo at @chakrapoweryoga today. 1. New year, new name (on insta): it's time to stop playing small and step fully into who I am and who i want to be. Enter @drkerrymcginn. It might not seem like much but it feels like stepping into my power, stepping into me. I have been hesitant to share all of me for fear of backlash: from the medical community, from friends or from the alternative space. Well, it's a bullshit fear. I am a healer, a doctor of physical therapy and a believer in all things considered "woo" or more importantly alternative health. I am here to help others feel good and I'm going to do that with ALL my knowledge. It wont serve everyone but it will serve someone. #takeitorleaveit 2. New year, new perspective: 2019 kind of sucked. Not going to lie. Lots of shit came up for me: burn out, shitty job, feeling lost, loss, grief, anger. I kind of lost myself there for a while. I could chalk it all up to a loss, to a shitty year but that seems like the easy way out. I'm here to learn from the ugly stuff and move forward despite it. So while I acknowledge that 2019 kind of (really) sucked, I also accept it needed to be just that so I could enter this decade stronger than ever. 3. New year, new pace: Slow is the new fast. Less is the new more. Harder is not better. Better is better. And I am to be better than ever. 4. New year, new ideas: SO many new ideas. I vow to keep space in my life and my schedule to create and pursue my new ideas. That's it for now my friends. Thank you for sticking around for the ride. ⭐️Graduated from high school and undergrad. ⭐️Currently attending my dream school with the best cohort I could ask for. ⭐️Saw my sisters Karmina Fefferman and Jenniffer C. Wesolowski get married (was a bridesmaid and maid of honor who gave a speech, and I can't for a few other weddings!) ⭐️Got published in Pomona Valley Review, California's Emerging Writer's, and The Inquisitive Eater (MANY more to come in the next decade). ⭐️Met some of my all-time favorite authors (also MANY more to come in the next decade). ⭐️Got my books personally by said authors! ⭐️Saw all my favorite groups in concert. ⭐️Got noticed some of my favorite members at concerts. ⭐️Visited Japan, Sydney, Australia, Chicago, and many other places with my wonderful family! ⭐️Read a few of my pieces at The New School readings. ⭐️Worked and interned at a few INCREDIBLE places. ⭐️Interacted with some of my favorite authors on social media, and now some of them follow me! ⭐️Made MANY amazing friends. ⭐️Currently working on a novel I know want to bring to the world! ⭐️Grew and found my voice. ⭐️Found myself This decade was full of MANY wonderful memories and accomplishments! In 2010 . I started this decade as Tha Jerzey Boy. I started this decade doing what makes people happy and not myself. I let people put me in a box of “this is The Sanchez I know “ when I was most afraid to express myself. I experienced a lot bad and good thing which I learned and grew from. It took a really bad car accident in November of 2016 to make me realize how fragile life truly is. So from 2017 til this last day of 2019. I started to do things that made me happy or that I felt that God wanted me to. I stopped caring about needing approval from people who didn’t support my happiness simply because I wasn’t making money from what I’m passionate about. I did have good people walk out of my life but God also replaced them with good people who understood me better. I started traveling by myself ( which I was scared too death to do at first). Spreading positivity and God’s Word in my own way through music is as my favorite part of it all. I look forward to entering in the next decade as Mighty Sanchez , A Guy who isn’t afraid of being himself no matter what and whose Never Too Mighty To Praise The Almighty.
