Getting back on the ice after a long break is always kind of rocky, but for some reason yesterday was exceptionally rough. I got there early, so I was able to stretch before I got laced up, but my legs were shaky because of it and I just felt off. I think I really need to work on my fear of falling, I gotta be able to just embrace that I’m going to fall and it’s going to suck. But my stomach lurches every time I wobble and it sucks. 

Anyway, we worked on mohawks yesterday, which was hard for me because not only have I not even attempted a three-point turn, I haven’t even mastered backwards one-foot glides yet. The instructor helped me major with getting the technique down and getting a feel for it without looking at my feet, but the minute I let go of her hands I couldn’t do it. So for the latter half of the class I focused on getting the backwards one foot glides down. 

I don’t know, it was just really discouraging yesterday. I felt like I’d gone backwards, and it was really just not a good feeling. But I also have to cut myself some slack; I didn’t get any sleep at all Sunday night because of what my roommate has coined The Creeps™, meaning I tossed and turned all night and just. Didn’t sleep.
