ZOUIS ARE STILL FRIENDS AND ZIAM ARE STILL BESTIES and Ziall never stopped being friends. Harry has always been the baby about the band and everything that went down with Zayn, and nothing will change my mind. *i love Harry but 100% heâs a nightmare to deal with if looking at the way Jeff babies him and follows him around like a toddler and that entire production team is anything to go by
Anon,,, what utter nonsense???
I think Louis and Zayn have had more contact and reconciled more than weâve been led to believe and theyâre (rightfully!) protecting their privacy to work through whatever they need to without media scrutiny.
As for Ziam, I donât know. I feel like Liam probably came down more on Zaynâs side. especially given his own struggles, I can see him relating more to Zaynâs choices than the rest. I donât think Niam were ever close, but I donât think Niall took kindly to the split.
Harry isnât a fucking infant. Heâs a grown adult whose high-profile managerâs involvement in his career does not, in fact, reflect on his character. His âoutburstsâ in interviews were deliberate and comedic. As he said himself, the topic of Zayn was extremely tense and, for the sake of the other boys, he took it on himself to joke about it, be a bit of a brat about it, and just give people what they wanted and expected so that the conversation wouldnât start to cut close to the bone.Â
Harry has always always always prized treating people well and conducting himself professionally. More recent interviews have revealed a deep fear of ruining not just his career, but everyone elseâs careers. Being closeted, he sacrificed a lot for that band. I believe that seeing Zayn up and walk away like he did hurt Harry personally, because he took responsibility for the band so personally.
From Harryâs perspective, if he even just stepped a little bit out of line, he was jeopardizing 4 other peopleâs careers, plus all of the folks who worked for the band. And he wasnât willing to do that. But Zayn was willing to completely abandon everyone. That would be hard for Harry to forgive, and I think he still hasnât, totally. I also believe that whatever happened with Zayn was a betrayal of Louis who really did hold the band together, and while Louis was hurt and sad, Harry was doubly angry with Zayn for hurting Louis like that. Â
Another thing is that Harry tends to blame himself when things go wrong. (Again, because he takes personal responsibility very seriously.) Notice how he talks about frustrations when youâre wrong about someone and wishing he could just ask a friend are you okay? one more time. Heâs not angry in these cases about what someone else did or what circumstances led them to it. No, heâs highly self-critical and takes these things personally.Â
Harry blames himself for not seeing what Zayn was hiding, he blames himself for getting Louis hurt, and he blames himself for jeopardizing their careers almost as much as he blames Zayn. But heâs angry with Zayn for betraying his trust and not making his needs known. And angry with Zayn for taking what Harry fought very hard to choose not to take for himself. Angry with Zayn for choosing himself over OT4.Â
Absolutely none of that is being a ânightmareâ or a âbabyâ. Idk how to tell you this but if you really believe those things about Harry, you donât love him. Those are horrible and insulting things to believe about anyone, much less someone you barely know and have never worked with. Harry is a professional, mature, emotionally intelligent adult. He has strong values, especially loyalty. The way you judge him is uncharitable and unkind.Â
Zayn leaving was a complex situation we know very little about. I think everyone in ot5 is entitled to their feelings about the split. That doesnât change the fact that there is a mature and respectful way to conduct yourself even when you are in crisis. It seems pretty evident Zayn didnât do that. And thatâs okay, because we donât always have the tools we need to do things right. But that doesnât mean your own suffering justifies your wrongs. It doesnât exempt you from your responsibilities. Iâm not sure Zayn has come to terms with that enough to really reach an understanding with Harry. Iâm sure from Zaynâs perspective, Harry doesnât care enough about him. He probably struggles to understand why Harry could be so angry at him for doing what he needed.Â
For Harry and Zayn, more than anyone else I think, forgiveness is a long two-way road neither one particularly wants to go down. Unfortunately :( Maybe itâll be easier for Harry once Zouis are in a better place. Because heâs nothing if not loyal. I doubt Harry will ever trust Zayn the same way again, though.Â
