“Let’s see…Cobalamin and…Nitrobenzene!”

“That’s right, Vi! You sure know your chemical structures.”

“Oh please, I just pay attention in class”

“Well it shows”

Bentina continued dusting, nothing wrong with that. Ms. Dee was a scientist, after all. And it was nice to hear her encourage the young sabrewing in her school studies

“Wow! That’s so clever!” Webbigail complimented in excitement, “What about the your other arm?!”

Bentina’s eyes widened as she remembered spotting the tattoos on Gandra’s arms when she entered the manor. She thought nothing of it at first, other than the thought “Oh, of course” followed by an eye roll. However, Beakley thought the young hen would pay no attention to any of the children, she should’ve factored in the fact that the children would draw their attention to their visitor

After taking in a deep breath and letting out a sigh, Bentina decided to peek into the room to assess the situation before making any rash decisions

The first thing she saw was young Webbigail holding onto her legs as if she was preventing herself from floating up into the air. Webby’s beak was open in awe as her full attention was on the tattoos on Gandra’s arms

Near Webby was Gandra Dee herself, kneeling on the ground in the middle of the group of girls

To Gandra’s right was Violet who was much calmer than Webby, but like her friend her full focus was on Gandra’s tattoos

Right next to Violet was Lena, who, as always, was on her phone. However Beakley was quick to pick up that the teen also took an interest in the ink on the guest’s arms. If you asked Beakley, she thought Lena did a rather poor job pretending she didn’t really care that much about Gandra’s tattoos

“Hmm…” Violet examined Gandra’s left arm, the hen moving her arm a bit closer to the sabrewing so she could get a better look, “these are microchips and wiring…”

“Ooooh! Like it’s an X-Ray of your arm!!” Webby practically jumped out of her seat which she was still getting a good grip on”

Gandra chuckled, “Yeah, basically”

“Cool!” Webby and Violet reacted in unison

“I wouldn’t mind doing something like that someday,” Lena spoke up getting the attention of everyone, “well maybe not that robotic stuff cause I’m not a robot-…no offense”

“None taken.”

“My sleeve tats will both be an x-ray of my arms, but my bones will be all rotten and have spiders weaving webs”

“Aw, I love that idea Lena!” Webby shouted from her seat

“Thanks Webs,” Lena smiled back, “and maybe I’d get the Featherweights’ logo somewhere on my shoulder.”

“The Featherweights?” Gandra raised her eyebrow, “You got some good taste in music, Lena”

“Uh, yeah. Obviously…” Lena blushed slightly

“I don’t know if I would get any someday,” Violet spoke up, “but if I did I would like each of them to have meaning. Along with looking really cool, of course”

“Gonna get your Senior Woodchucks patch permanently stuck to your body?” Lena snarked to her sister

“Possibly,” Violet nodded, “but I would love to have runes on my body”

“You should do that, Violet!” Webby gasped

Gandra looked over to Webby, “What about you, Webby?”

Bentina held her breath and bit her tongue to prevent herself from saying anything

Webby’s eyes widened as she thought of all the possibilities

“Oh well not to steal from Violet but I LOVE the idea of runes! My top three choices would be Uruz, Kenaz, and Orthala! Those mean Endurance and Power, Knowledge, and Home, respectively. I’d love to get the McDuck Clan Family crest on me! Ooh! Maybe I could get my entire family tree on my back! Ooh or maybe I could get a bunch of tattoos like the tribes used to do in the olden days! Or better yet, maybe the three of us should get matching tattoos! A symbol that represents Team Magic!”

“Ooh yeah!” Lena sat up and pointed at Webby

“I’m all for that idea!” Violet concurred

“Let’s go get them now!” Webby jumped up in her seat

Okay. That was it for Beakley, she had to say something, but to her surprise, Gandra spoke up

“Maybe you guys might wanna wait til you’re older.” Gandra got up from the ground. “Not gonna lie, these did kinda hurt like hell when I got them and I’m sure your guys’ dads and your granny aren’t ready to see you guys with ink”

“Yeah…you’re right.” Lena sighed

“That will give me plenty of time to think over what I want” Violet stated

“Me too!” Webby added

Beakley sighed in relief

“Well,” Gandra stretched her arms and grabbed her sweatshirt, “I think I took a long enough break. Better get back to work”

It was that moment Bentina decided to make her way back to the foyer

“Thanks for showing off your tattoos, Gandra!” Webby sat back down

“And for chatting” Lena added

“I hope things progress well for you” Violet said as Gandra went to exit the room

Over in the Foyer, Bentina was busy dusting the top of the fireplace as Gandra walked past her with her full focus on her phone

Before exiting the room, Gandra stopped and turned around to Beakley with a smirk on her face, “I hope we weren’t too loud and disrupted your cleaning, Mrs. B”
