my addition to the conversation around the ending of 19x06
i don’t think we can base the decision of whether what penelope did was out of character or not on the impact on jj because i honestly believe the show doesn’t remember about BAUgate and therefore that there was/is a link between voit and jj. like i don’t think they wrote that situation while having in mind that it would be like penelope betraying jj specifically, because of BAUgate. i think this is just about penelope’s ethics and their conflict with the BAU as an ensemble, not with jj in particular.
but maybe i’ll be proven wrong next week!
(and personally i don’t think it’s ooc, i think it’s in the continuity of what we’ve seen of penelope since the beginning of cm and especially of cme)
