CAS: It's always you... you selfish little men in positions of authority. You take what you want, you take who you want. And you believe that your power will protect you. Well, it won't protect you from me.

because this this is the ultimate expression i think of how dean and the way dean cares for the world has changed cas. dean's frustration and distain both for those in power who abuse power and who don't use it to help people is one of his most foundational traits and one of the things i love the most about him.

and i think the way dean is so committed to responsibility and doing the right thing even when he was deeply outmatched power-wise was what made cas start falling for him in the first place.

and this theme of power and responsibility is a throughline through so much of their relationship (through godstiel, and the leviathan and the angels returning to heaven and dealing with amara and lucifer and jack and chuck)
