“What if they hate the present?”
“But you don’t know that,”
“Victor, they will love them. Now please take the bags to the cab,” Sherlock had groaned out that last statement before directing his boyfriend toward their luggage beside the door. Victor exhaled loudly before grabbing the bags and heading down the steps. The cabdriver helped them with loading up the boot before entering his car again. Sherlock gave a farewell wave to Mrs. Hudson before Victor ushered him into cab.
“What if they don’t like me?” Victor asked softly under the noise of the cab.
“They will love you,” Sherlock assured him placing his pale hand over the tan hand of his boyfriend. Victor placed his over top and rubbed his thumb across Sherlock’s knuckles and let a small smile warm his lips.
The pair had arrived in the early evening two days before Christmas Eve. Victor was groggy but Sherlock remained primed and ready having spent most of his trip within his mind palace while Victor watched the passing landscape.
“William! My baby!” Came the excited shouts of his mother as she opened the door to welcome them into the warm and brightly lit living room. Victor stayed behind Sherlock, unsure of how he’d be received. Sherlock ventured into his parent’s home with ease and went right for his father and gave him a warm greeting, but Victor’s shyness did not go unnoticed.
“Oh William you forgot to introduce your friend,” His mother reprimanded him as he tugged Victor further into the living room with her kind eyes and smile.
“Everyone this is Victor Trevor, my boyfriend,” Sherlock wrapped his arm around Victor waist and pulled him closer. Mrs. Holmes clapped her hands in delight before pulling Victor into a hug. Mr. Holmes came up after his wife and shook his hand while uttering a kind welcome.
Victor felt a little overwhelmed with the situation. He had feared this moment since Sherlock suggest they visit his parents for Christmas. Sherlock sensed this and remained close to him.
“You two must be exhausted. Sherlock, you and Victor can take the spare room down the hall. Myc will hopefully be here tomorrow and now that you two have come clean I will have a room for him.” She ushered the two toward the hall as Sherlock inwardly groaned.
“I would rather have him sleep on the floor,” Sherlock grumbled.
“I heard that,” Responded his mother making Victor laugh slightly.
“Told you they’d love you,” Sherlock said as he laid on the spare bed. Victor had laid their suitcases open on the other half and began to unpack what he needed.
“You just wanted to be right,” Victor teased.
“Alright you two get over her,” Mrs. Holmes called toward Victor and Sherlock who entered the dining room together and caused a squeak to escape Mrs. Holmes.
“What?!” Confused for a moment Sherlock felt the warm hint of the blush on his cheeks as his blue eyes drifted up, Victor did the same but slower.
They didn’t need anymore prompting as Victor tilted his head down to met the soft lips of Sherlock. There was a camera flash and Victor’s eyes drifted to look to see Mr. Holmes holding a camera with a wide grin on his face.
“Welcome to the Family,” He boasted proudly. The two parted but Victor remained close to Sherlock and whispered.
“Love you more,” Sherlock answered stealing another kiss.
