“I think he’s just confused about his feelings,” and why wouldn’t he be? The great heteronormative lie is that we’re all born straight and in pursuit and need of romantic love. I was confused until I wasn’t. Until I realized I don’t feel a certain way and it had a name. Asexuality. Aromanticism. Aroace. Aspec. That’s where the confusion dies. It’s followed by doubt when you have a second guessing self-loathing mind like mine, or live in a place hell bent on conceiving the death of education, but it’s not confusion. It’s “what if you're not?” Even though I already know how I feel. It’s confusion until you accept that you’ve been deceived your whole life. If he is coming to terms with the fact that he is different then he is leaving the state of confusion and walking gracefully into acceptance. He will doubt himself at times because the norm taught him to see things in one direction, but the world is vast and diverse. That is the truth. He is. We are. Queer.

These Maxxine vignettes are so gritty, disgustingly brutal, pretty gay, and so so good. I can't wait for both of them to be back and (hopefully) they do this build-more justice.
