Arthur is a world class violinist trapped in Sydney, Australia by his fear of flying. In the wake of a mediocre concert, vicious critics and with barely a month to go before his next (hopefully reputation-saving) recital, Arthur is almost at breaking point. When his accompanist, Morgana, breaks her wrist in a car accident, Arthur is left without a pianist. And the story begins, when the Maestro at the conservatoire, Gaius Stresemann, recommends his protege Merlin Emrys to step in. Merlin, who plays as he pleases and only wants to teach piano to kindergartners.

I would consider this another masterpiece of the fandom, to be honest. The portions with music and the descriptions. I sound cliche saying, it but my heart soared with it because the descriptions were so rich I could practically hear the music. I do, however, need to warn of the angst (yeah, I know, another one). I was definitely crying through certain parts. This fic is absolutely stunning, though and I read it in one night. Characterization was spot-on on all counts. My only problem with it was errors in the fic itself - it seems like some beta notes were accidentally left in and that can get a bit distracting. But if you can look past that, it's really an amazing Merthur fic.

I need to preface this review with the fact that it may be a bit biased, considering it was only the second Merthur fic I read. But let me say that it's reputation as one of the best out there is well deserved. The parallels with canon and inclusion of characters was very well done and clever. I especially loved Kilgharrah. This fic is equal parts adorable, romantic, and hilarious. I loved every second of it. It's my favorite Merthur fan fiction (although, granted, I need to read more).
