hate isn't just the absence of love, but the presence of fear. you fear falling, you fear being weak again, you fear someone's ideologies spreading and becoming a norm, you fear the unknown, you fear threats to your lifestyle, to your traditions, you fear being harmed. but often times that's disguised as "i hate this person" or "i hate this thing" or "i hate this situation." its all deeply rooted in fear and its evident when you realize there's so much ignorance in hatred. most obviously on the level of widespread discrimination but even on smaller personal levels. you can be ignorant in the way that you cope with your feelings towards someone and it becomes this fear of not knowing how to handle that person or maintain your own power. i think its an interesting way to consider things and to even analyze yourself when you look at it this way. it points the mirror back at you and you have to find the core of these issues and hopefully you come up with some helpful answers.
