This is hard for me to answer because I donât dislike any of them. There are things I like and dislike about all of the EPs/SPs. Like, with Nightlife for example, I could do without the whole âDowntownâ thing and Crumplebottom (who is universally banned in my game) and the matchmaker that I never use and all that, but I wouldnât want to do without vampires. Or with Apartment life, I could do without witches, but I love to build/play multifamily lots (without having to play all the resident families at once), if not actual âapartments.â And with the SPs, thereâs at least one thing I like in each of them...or else I wouldnât keep all of them installed.
So Iâll phrase it as âWhich could I live without easiest?â And that would be the holiday pack because I donât incorporate real-world holidays into my game at all, so most of the stuff is useless to me. I keep the pack installed mostly because of that stupid pillar candle, really, as well a plant or two that arenât overtly âholiday-ish.â *laugh* But I could live without those, if I had to. ;)
32. Whatâs your blog theme? Berry?Realistic?Other?Why?
Heh. This is funny to answer, since I wrote this. :) I canât say I really have a theme or aesthetic. At least nothing that I consciously stick to or feel that I have to adhere to. I just use what I like to look at, really.Â
I initially bought the game just to build stuff, whole neighborhoods, with no intention of ever actually playing the game. And, I wanted to build in it realistically, basically to do neighborhood design since you canât really do that in the architectural CAD programs that I like to fool around in. So, Iâve always gravitated toward more realistic-looking stuff for building exteriors, everything from terrain paints to plants to roofing materials to wall finishes and doors/windows. And of course I added in realistic skies and water mods once those were available. Once I had decided to play, I actually didnât use CAS CC for quite a long time. But then the eyes started getting to me. I really, REALLY dislike Maxis eyes. *laugh* So, I default-replaced them with realistic ones. But then once I did that everything else on a Sim looked...off. So then I got more-realistic skintones and hair/facial hair, too, in addition to having always leaned more toward realistic stuff for build/buy. (Although I do like Simlish better than real-world alphabets on stuff; I donât imagine that my Sims live in the same universe we live in -- sort of an alternate universe, I guess, where none of the history is the same and none of the same cultures exist --Â so I donât want real-world alphabets on my Sims stuff.)Â
Anyway, I guess most people would call my âstyleâ (such as it is *laugh*) more realistic, but Iâm not really trying to be ârealistic,â if that makes any sense at all. :)

Thank you! My house has no hallways, and apparently itâs had some kind of effect on me, because when I build in the sims, their houses are about 80% hallway. I go to such lengths and sacrifice so much actual living space just to make their lives more difficult.

You can search on any tumblr by writing /search/word-you-want-to-search after the blog url like so: https://0201-sims.tumblr.com/search/pralinesims - that way I found them here. :) Apparently tumblr is really picky about the search word though; writing just âpralineâ or even âpraline*â didnât bring any hits so itâs not perfect method but always worth testing if you know any word mentioned in the post. Using âIommiâ or âcuffâ as search words seems to work too. (Iâm telling this because it seems that not many know that tumblr has in-build search function even if the blog itself doesnât happen to have visible search box)

LOL. Luckily for these âAmish,â I modded out neighborhood-view traffic in my main playing user account because it bugs me. So, no mysterious lights randomly zipping around the area.

Itâs a really nice set. Easy to place (not too fiddly, like I find a lot of small neighborhood deco to be), a good number of shapes to mix and match, AND they donât float when viewed in lot view. Kudos to Criquette! :) I kind of went all zen when I was âbuildingâ the roads. It was quite meditative and it was fun to create the shapes. Iâm looking forward to building the âroad networkâ as the neighborhood grows.

Maybe she's looking into the past. :P I don't know what the criteria for the Spy On Guy is. Mine starts as the first sim to move into the 'hood, or the oldest one. Sometimes is changes before that sim is dead to one I've played more (with more memories/relationships? or maybe that reputation thing has something to do with it, idk)
Now thatâd be a neat trick! Yet it also makes an odd kind of sense. Whenever a telescope is used to look at objects many light-years away in space, itâs seeing that thing as it was dozens or hundreds or thousands or millions of years ago, after all. Doesnât quite work the same way when youâre just spying on your neighbors, of course, but...Details. Donât bother me with details. :)
In any case, I think the Spy On Guy is determined by instance number, meaning the playable that was created first in the neighborhood is The One, initially. Which is why itâs always Mortimer Goth when you play Pleasantview or any subhood attached to it. For this neighborhood, since it has no premades, it was Goopy, who was a clone of the original townie. From there, I donât know how the game determines who the next one will be. If it just goes down the list in order... Sandy was the second playable created, but sheâs dead, too. Steven was the next...also dead. After that, it was Gwendolyn, so it SHOULD be her being spied on, but...apparently not!

They normally do. In Drama Acres it was Peter Ottomas, but now that he and Sam are dead it's David. That's weird.
Yeah, after giving it further thought, I think itâs just in this neighborhood where it hasnât switched to someone else. This neighborhood does have its odd quirks. I think itâs because it was originally made on my old Simming computer that got zapped. It does funky things on occasion.

Yup, two. Mardipäev in 10.nov and Kadripäev in 25. nov. They're kinda similar to Halloween, but have key differences. You dress up (as a dark man for Mart, light woman for Kadri), go around the town asking for entrance (in song), then entertain the family and bless their household in exchange for treats.
Ahhhh, so itâs kind of like Christmas caroling, then...which is also a dying/dead thing here in the US. (Sadly. It was one of my favorite things about Xmas when I was growing up. My family and some of their friends and all us kids used to do it as a group every year, and it was so much fun.) Itâs cool that you get two occasions to do it!Â

Oh, and I don't mind teens trick-or-treating. I did as a teen because I didn't want to give up the fun, but they have to be in a proper costume. If they're just going around trying to mooch candy off people - no way! We don't give them any. ;D
I think there should be some kind of generally-accepted age cut-off for trick-or-treating. 14, maybe. After that, go to parties or parades or something in your costume, but leave the door-to-door candy-begging for the younger ones. :) Iâve seen older kids harassing younger ones out on Halloween, and it...irritates me. And Iâve been known to kick bully ass, so...yeah. :)

Here in the Midwest trick-or-treating is very much alive! My family buys a few big bags of candy and we always run out before the night's over. My neighborhood is in a pretty blighted part of the city though it's managed to stay fairly safe and well-maintained so I think a lot of families come from nearby neighborhoods to trick-or-treat in my area! :D
Iâm glad to hear itâs still going on there. In the area(s) where I live, it seems most people take their kids to malls to trick-or-treat these days...although since malls are dying, too, Iâm not sure what theyâll do. ;) Or maybe itâs just not as big of thing out in the west? I dunno... When I was growing up in northeastern Indiana, it was definitely a thing, even though I lived in less-densely-populated farmland. I never went out, myself, but the local kids generally went into nearby towns, driven in in groups by parents who had trucks/vans/station wagons. But, yâknow, that was like 45 years ago, so... :)

It's also creeping its way in France, which is weird because people don't really celebrate it, it's more about the supermarkets trying to sell candies and other stuff like house decorations... On the same way, I just hate that shops are now doing the Black Friday thing, because as I see it it's typically American (the day after Thanksgiving) and it should stay this way. But Autumn is awesome, best season ever !
Ohhhhh, donât get me started on the commercialization of Christmas. Itâs just...so, SO out of alignment with Jesusâs teachings that it makes my heart hurt. The Black Friday thing is just an outgrowth of that cancer, IMO. But Iâll stop there. :) Iâm kind of surprised that Halloween isnât generally celebrated in France, though, in that France was at one time an area populated by Celts, and the Halloween thing of costumes and trick-or-treating does have its roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and its mumming and such...although it, too, has been greatly bastardized and commercialized, of course. Perhaps thatâs why itâs not so popular in France. French folks donât strike me as people who appreciate American-style gross (in many senses of the word) consumerism and commercialization. :PÂ
