Offerings to Persephone
Here are some of my personal offerings that I give to Persephone. Although some of these have come from research, most have come from my personal connection to Persephone and what she seems to like or encourage me to get for her.
--Flowers (particularly yellow and purple), pictures of flowers, pressed flowers, or plastic flowers. She particularly seems to like nightshade for me.
--Black stones (jet, obsidian, etc.), especially the rough stones. Lava stones! I have also had a lot of luck with rough dark kyanite.
--Dark water (such as water in a dark offering cup)
--Coins, particularly old darker coins
--Worshiping/Meditating in the darkness or at dawn or dusk.
--Worshiping in the cold/snow and contemplating the role of adulthood, being a spouse, and/or being a leader/Queen.
--Worshiping in the spring and contemplating the role of mother/daughter and how family is both beautiful and problematic.
--Putting flowers on old or abandoned graves.
--Seeking out ancestors/working on genealogy.
--Meditating on calm, peace, and grace.
--Putting on something dark and beautiful just for you.
--Meditating on the knowledge that you are the only one that knows you. Your mother, husband, family, and friends know part of you, but only you know the whole.
--Donating to causes such as those that restore graves, support genealogy, hospice costs, supporting victims of kidnapping or human trafficking, supporting those that have lost their family or disowned family, shelters for the homeless (especially in the winter)
***Special note that I did not put pomegranates here, which is very atypical. I support all those that give pomegranates to Persephone as that is a known offering. But she doesn’t seem to like them as much from me. Maybe she’s tired of them? Ha!
