love to be the only permanent member of staff on the floor in our room because someone* decided to roster an RDO and have the other permanent off-floor all day ! especially fun when you have multiple high needs kids who get an extra booking and then also the only support worker cancels last minute !
also: because this room, and this centre generally, was designed with toddlers and babies in mind, the door to the corridor is at child height, meaning it is a psychological barrier rather than a physical one. this also leaves one staff member (me, the only permanent) having to chase down kids who decide the psychological barrier doesn't work on them! really good and valuable use of my time, boy howdy do i get a lot of education done
