i just can't enjoy subnautica... i wish i could bc it looks up my alley but i just hate that there is a sea monster hell bent on killing you specifically. from what i can tell the game puts some effort into making it a semi realistic ecosystem, which is why the decision to make a big murder monster pisses me off. why is is expending so much energy to chase such small prey. it would not do that. do you see great whites (far closer to our size) doing that? no, they only attack when they confuse a human for their normal prey (seal/sea turtle). is the energy they expend chasing you regained upon eating you? no fucking way. you are a crumb. hold on ive pissed myself off so im going to go see if the game has a good explanation for this behavior
