1) Leo and Virgo. Just their entire dynamic. Virgo is such a scrappy young woman who’s become frightened about her situation and Leo is such a high-strung manipulative CEO who’s become curious and prodding. And despite what their power dynamic would be if they were humans, Virgo can shut him down any time she wants. She casts a glare and he’s whimpering in the corner immediately. He misspeaks and before she can say anything he’s apologized 50 times. They definitely used to be mentor-student but after Leo broke her trust it was over.

2) Veil and Sona. Close and refuse to admit it.They’re super close, the closest of anyone in the group, and frequently show each other how much they care. Still, Sona calls it gross whenever Veil gives them a pet name and Veil is appalled whenever Sona ruffles his hair. Whenever Sona’s having a rough day Veil is there to help them relax. Whenever Veil’s on the verge of a breakdown Sona’s there to help ground him. And no one gets away with picking on either of them while the other’s around- no one would dare.

3) Russ and Morello. I wasn’t going to make it through this without mentioning them. They’re not only one of my only actual married couples but they’re also just. So nice to write about. Russ is playful and teasing while Morello is stern but far more into PDA. The two of them manage each other’s chaos as well as Jayce’s. Their dates are either kicking ass or having a nice dinner. Sometimes they’re both. They’re in a dangerous line of work and have been for years- partners, at that- and have a Bonded Pair energy to them. Do Not Separate.

4) Axiom and Cork. If you know my characters, if you’ve heard about specifically these two, you know these are horrible names to put together. More than anyone else. And that’s why I love them. A hate/hate relationship, if you will. Axiom and Cork are constantly at each other’s throats, always snapping and bullying each other, and are basically fated to kill each other. I can think of only 1 or 2 timeline where they don’t kill each other and in both cases they still very much tried to. Sometimes what you need are two people that are situationally attached at the hip and in all other regards planning to maim each other.

5) Rowan and Aurie. For sure. They’re opposites they’re equals it’s lovely. Rowan’s treated weird because she hasn’t grown up the way a “normal” human would- she was raised closer to how people treat androids. Aurie’s treated weird because they have more emotions and personality than other androids- they’re practically treated how people treat humans. Both feel a jarring disconnection between who they see themselves as and what they are and they help each other remember that it doesn’t matter what they are- they aren’t broken for being themself. Also! They’re best friends and that’s just nice to write. Another Do Not Separate.
