i hate how people really forget that lecturers have lives and feelings too?? my mom teaches in a medical university and it breaks my heart to see her do online classes and get ZERO response whenever she's asking for feedback during classes. i've seen how she teaches, she always considers different ways to explain a topic if someone doesn't understand. i always unmute my mic in my classes to respond in yeses and no's whenever my lecturers ask anything bc that's all it really takes...a simple verification. i know getting up and doing classes in the pandemic is hard and considering others is becoming harder but the LEAST one can do is just be present in class???? or like write in the messages that you understood the topic????
no wonder teachers are so demotivated to teach, my heart goes to senior lecturers who are way past their youth. dealing with technology and radio silence during classes is not something they'd ever want.

sorry to be blunt but the media is undercovering the fires in California because they have an east coast bias. if potentially hundreds were dead, tens of thousands displaced, and millions breathing in air more toxic than the air in Beijing on the east coast it would be wall to wall coverage. 🤷♀️
