is the moment horror?
Hi! It's not, not really. It has some existential dread moments that are shot in a way that borders on a psychological thriller, but no, it's more of a surreal piece. I liked that it gestured in the direction of movies like "black swan" as far as behind the scenes artistic drama, but I don't see anyone classifying it as horror. It's cool that a studio known for horror was connected to it and I can see the creative DNA is there if they had pushed it in that direction.
I saw “the moment” at the cinema and wow. Talk about a movie with a target audience of me. Gorgeously filmed, tonally ambivalent, anxious and atmospheric, with moments like “black swan” as far as conjuring artistic existential dread, laugh out loud funny at times, surreal. Loved it
Charli XCX's Wuthering Heights album fits the book. Ultimate vindication for poc everywhere who hated the whitewashing of Heathcliff in the 2026 movie
yeah, I think it was the Independent who cited that soundtrack by charli as the only thing about the movie that works as far as accurately capturing the book's tone
