I feel like season one of UU explains why Manepear and Flame would have their specific ideals that they have now regarding combat and fighting as a whole. Fighting with Honour in order to combat the dishonourable underhanded methods verses Battles do not have honour and it depends on if you can win or not (<ā from someone who havenāt caught up with season one yet)
While Flame saw dishonour and unfairness while he was under the major powers during that time (Zampire and later on Invis mafia), and he had decided to be the contrarian and prove himself to be an honourable warrior (back then heās a lot more comfortable with using stuff like elytras to help him fight, as well as hiring people to attack Wemmbuās colony. Now he just swears them off and sees them as an underhanded way to get the upper hand), Mane saw the bloodshed caused by the major powers and what it took for them to win battles. Which might be why he had chosen to live in solitude after everything was over in season one.
I think Flame as a character has a genuine love for combat. Correct me if Iām wrong. But it feels like something that he is clearly passionate about. So it would make sense why he had chosen to hold onto this code of honour regarding combat. I think if Flameās character is gonna go anywhere, I donāt think you can take the love of combat out of Flame. He can learn to be more diplomatic and learning how to work with a team yeah but you canāt really force him to stop combat altogether. Kinda like how you canāt make Parrot stop trying to help people even in the risk of his own life. Or how you canāt make Wemmbu stop caring about those that he knows. Itās just who Flame is at his core
