I hate The Rise of Skywalker for so many reasons. But I wanted to point out that Hux's anxiety and submissive behavior in TROS is NOT strictly in response to his traitorous intent. Another significant factor is that Allegiant General Pryde was one of Brendol Hux's oldest friends. And based on the relationship Brendol had with Admiral Brooks, I am fairly certain that Pryde is aware that Brendol abused Armitage physically & emotionally. Seeing that Brooks not only encouraged Brendol but also took part in abusing Armitage. It's possible that Pryde may have had the same reaction. Thus Pryde's presence, in addition to the fact that he has POWER over Armitage, is probably triggering Armitageβs ptsd.
On top of that, if Pryde had any inkling that Armitage murdered Brendol, he probably would have been looking for any excuse to eliminate Armitage in revenge. The comic made it evident that Brooks was trying to have Armitage ASSASINATED. So I wouldn't put it past Pryde to attempt the same thing. Especially considering that Pryde is supposed to be closer to Brendol than Brooks was.
I also want to disclaim that my blog canon DOES NOT support Pryde killing Hux in any verse. While I do not see Armitage Hux as a redeemable character whatsoever, I do not think it is appropriate or tasteful for him to be murdered by someone so close to his long-time abuser.
