The way that most people are probably just seeing this as petty tumblr drama that has dragged on too long/gotten out of hand is really frustrating me. Not because it hasn't dragged on too long but because it's gone beyond tumblr drama into real harassment.
(note: This is not intended as a call-out post, thus no names are named and all personal language aims to be neutral. That being said, I believe that everything I've alluded to or claimed here can be backed up with receipts. This is an earnest expression of frustration at what I believe to have been a deeply unfair situation.)
The level of bullying from the get-go was insane. Nobody reached out to Hux about the initial post before immediately attacking them, their character, and the characters of anyone who follows them. They (group they) refused to do anything but point fingers and treat Hux defending themselves as an attack, even after they intentionally made the situation so that Hux had to defend themself (by choosing not to have a regular civil conversation first.)
By making even *following Hux* into an urgent moral issue, they used other people's good intentions to run a reactionary smear campaign against Hux by continually misrepresenting and twisting their words, the content of their fics, and their behavior to make them out as a horrible person and stir up knee-jerk reactions in people.
That's intimidation. Not conversation. And I think that trying to intimidate a community into shunning an individual you and your friends dislike until they have to leave *for their own safety* is absolutely repugnant behavior.
I don't mean to drag things out or dogpile on people who are clearly already having a hard time but that's literally what they did in the first place? and I think you don't get to be outraged when you get treated the way you treat others.
It speaks volumes to the kind of people these individuals are that they would accuse Hux of intentionally sabotaging their gofundme* and implying that Hux is a bad advocate for abuse victims because of it, when these people did The Same Thing when they initially tried to deplatform Hux who was (at the time) living in their car and relying on tips to afford food.
A community isn't a friend group. There will be people within it that you don't like. That's what the block button is for. No group of individuals should be allowed to encourage harassment like has happened here. Truly bad eggs will get excluded naturally because they're assholes. Nobody deserves to be publicly targeted to be bullied and threatened out of a community for the crime of being someone you and your friends dislike.

Other than my creation, i only remember speaking with the prototype once.

When he looked at me, he didnt necessarily seem angered or upset. He even laughed a bit, commenting of the craftwork. but it didnt do much to quell my nerves. In full honesty i was utterly terrified, the amount of bootlicking i did should only be remembered by him. i am erasing it from my mind.
Eventually, he made me an offer, one i couldnt refuse. Literally. Im not getting impaled for denying him.
