Oh, there’s absolutely nothing that gets weiss’s spirits worked up quite like a festival! and a holiday themed one, at that! it’s almost as if she forgets everything else going on and dedicates all her free time, outside of training, to wandering the streets and soaking up all the joyous events and festivities the city has to offer. it’s seemingly endless . as she explores, she makes mental notes of places she can take her teammates and friends. ruby would love the games, yang is always more than willing to try the most ridiculous food booths, and there’s some coats and scarves that she thinks blake might like . . .
but what catches her attention almost immediately is the ice skating rink. it takes no time for her to decide she needs to conquer the rink ── skating was always one of her favorite activities as a child. it was something she and her siblings could be free doing, despite their fathers wishes to perfect technique. she’s just tied up her laces, anxious to get back on the rink, when blue hues spot a familiar face. not one of her teammates, not a friend from the city, but none other than mercury black.
she recalls the last time they’d met. dangerous circumstances had forced the enemies to cooperate despite MANY protests on both ends. but, as much as weiss LOATHES to admit ─ it wasn’t the worst possible thing she’d done. she’s not sure why she approaches him now, though, when she could simply ignore his presence and be on her way.
okay, maybe she wants to show off, just a little.
❝ mercury. ❞ she manages a neutral tone, not friendly but without resentment, surprising herself, ❝ i’ll be honest : i wouldn’t have taken you to be the ice skating type. or are you simply enjoying watching others show off? ❞
