Theory and want: Ned accidentally using magic or hearing a calling for him to go see strange and he learns how to do a spell or somehow remembers Peter.
if I can pick one headcanon to not be murdered in S5 it’d be the fact that matt is 11/10 taller than keith now. not by much, but enough.

I started thinking last night about how matt prefers a relatively nonlethal weapon when fighting, and then I realized pidge’s bayard weapon is also unconventional ( a katar ) and sees far more use for its utility as a grappling hook than as something she can cut and shock with.
and I think it’s just a nice commentary on the resourcefulness of the holts? their weapons aren’t their weapons. their minds are their weapons. the bayard, the quarterstaff: they’re a means to an end. when they take down the bounty hunter in S4E2, it’s not by using their weapons for their intended purpose— it’s by using them as tools.
so we know quintessence is like “ the essence of life itself ” or whatever, but I like to think it’s also the stuff you’d find at the center of stars, and matt when he bridges the gap between quintessence and the element factories of the universe just feels so profoundly connected to the world in that moment.
“ it’s starstuff. we’re made of starstuff. ”
