honestly chomping at the bit for the schemers table,, I’ve seen in a couple of polls that it’s one of the least anticipated tables but you guys aren’t thinking about the potential
these four are staying in the viper’s den, embedded inside institutions that are under attack, they will have to manoeuvre in a way that is incredibly calculated because the risks are so high, we’ve seen evidence already of exactly how ruthless and deadly the sundered houses can be on the basis of one interaction, look no further than Murray and Teor in episode 3
if the table ends up being Bolaire, Hal, Azune, and Murray, all four are members of different institutions in different parts of town,, it’s likely there will be times where they are each on their own surrounded by people of uncertain loyalties trying to enact their agenda without getting burned
it’s a cold war, it’s a guerrilla campaign from the inside, every interaction has the possibility of gaining vital information or giving yourself away with nowhere to run, if they can get the narrative balance right, it has the potential to be nail biting stuff and i’m simply too seated
okay so i know people have mixed feelings about Bolaire asking *that* of Hal when he's clearly in shock after having killed someone, but to me it seems like a weird Bolaire themed atempt at bonding and proving to Hal that he can be trusted? it's like hey i know we're close friends but you're weary of me now after finding out im actually a sentient mask that wears people so here's me. heres all of me and what i have to do to survive. and i want you to help me do it and i trust you and put my life completely and literally into your hands. if you chose not to put me onto the body just dont leave me here. i am at your mercy.
and i think there's something weirdly beautiful about that.
Spoilers for episode 25
"We're saving the king, get to it!"
I love this line, after that grueling combat and the stress of the fight, finally getting more than 5 paces into the main combat arena was a goddamn victory. But I'm paranoid, and the sundered houses did not get everything they wanted, but also have secured a victory, and taken a step towards complete control of..... Well, everything. But I find it funny to stop and think about all of this from the perspective of the sundered houses as a unit, because the head of house Cormoray is missing, the scion of Halovar is missing, all of Royce is gone and nobody knows why, Primus isn't showing up to the secretive meetings and nobody knows we're the hell to send him letters to, not even his next in line. Depending on our timeline Divinos/Royce, who are missing with only a flimsy explanation of were they went, are being blamed for the murder of the youngest Tachonis child. In maybe about a month, someone may realize that the parah blades are missing and replaced with replicas, oh, and Timony might well be going to war, which was always a part of the plan except for the part where there wily, seasoned warrior king (who the sundered houses chose to kill, rather than buy or manipulate, which tells you a lot,) was supposed to be cold and in the ground before said war started.
It's a fucking madhouse in the chamber of the lords advisory right now, 3 of the 5 heads are missing, people are being accused of murder, the surefire 100% planned assassination of the very public king and noble was a mess, and the city guard that they sunk the time, effort, money and manpower into fully replacing with there own guys cannot even find a runaway gnome, and even worse, the Elite unit of Soldiers who can see magic with there eyes and sense otherworldly presences who operate under the direct control of a Lord of a sundered house cannot find the incredibly magical, incredibly recognizable lady Cormoray. A strong breeze could collapse this government.
