Mar’i tosses a little ball at BBRae son. He just lays there on his stomach. “Come baby, come, want to play?” He just lays there, then slowly crawls over to a picture book and stares at it. Apples didn’t fall that far from the tree.
Lol.

with the amount of writing I’ve been doing this year (I’ve written roughly 108k words since 2017 began) I’ve been thinking a lot about like... my future as a writer, recently
like all of those 108k words have been fanfiction bc that’s what’s been moving for me but... lately I’ve been thinking a lot about my original work again and I kind of want to work more on my own stuff sometime soon. at very least over the summer, which is actually within sight (finally), the end of the semester is approaching and everything
I’ve been thinking especially about possibly... self-publishing a light novella or two via amazon? it’s easy as hell to do and I can pump out fluffy, non-plot-heavy, fun-to-read stuff in that length bracket relatively successfully. obviously it takes time but it’s definitely like... doable, and it’s a step, right. I have to start somewhere. (all this especially considering I quite likely won’t be able to manage a job this summer, either.) but I’m very nervous about that also
mostly I’m afraid that if I did, no one other than my family and like, Susie and Keynan would ever actually get around to reading it
writing is a weird passion to have even when you’ve got a really supportive social group bc it can be a challenge to share, and it takes time and patience and the ability to sit down and read stuff for anyone to actually get invested and respond to it. and that’s not even accounting for taste; you could be a great writer but if your loved ones aren’t into the genre or subject matter or whatever it very well might just not line up
all I know is right now writing is all that makes me feel like myself and I want to keep doing it a lot
