Ezra Bridger (and Sabine Wren)
Ahsoka S2 trailer (2026)
The Ghosts of World War II by Sergey Larenkov
Taking old World War II photos, Russian photographer Sergey Larenkov carefully photoshops them over more recent shots to make the past come alive. Not only do we get to experience places like Berlin, Prague, and Vienna in ways we could have never imagined, more importantly, we are able to appreciate our shared history in a whole new and unbelievably meaningful way.
This is eerily touching.
it is honestly amazing how much of writing and editing is just. logistics. like... do i use a name here or a pronoun? if i move this dialogue tag to the middle of this line and break it in half, does the end of the line hit harder that way? what if i move the tag to the front? what if i remove it entirely? ...wait, whose point of view am i in; can i reasonably say this character is appalled, or must i say they look or seem or sound appalled? is this a deliberate action or a step-removed one; is her hand closing on his shoulder, or is she closing her hand on his shoulder? environment environment environment, we need to break all this dialogue up with some narration, the scene is coming untethered. what! are! they doing! with! the rest of their bodies that are not hands! fuck fuck fuck FUCK i forgot we covered this two chapters ago and now i either need to cut this whole chunk or find a reason to reprise the conversation from earlier. name or pronoun? name or pronoun? name or pronoun? move this clause around in this sentence? oh i'll add this phrase-- nope, never mind, past!me added the same phrase two lines down. okay, if i add too much environmental narration it's going to take away from this bit, but not enough and it won't feel grounded. what if i move this to its own line? where the FUCK are their hands?

I (finally!) finished my summer finals and have been completely and utterly exhausted, so here's a sketch dump of Sabezra (feat. Leia, Luke, and Omega) sleeping, because let's face it, there's no way these teenagers were saving the galaxy without napping at every possible moment
hot ahh rebels, like D aM N ! 😮💨😍 💖💜💙
So that Ahsoka season 2 trailer eh y’all 👀✨🙌🏼
January 20th let’s goo! 🙂↕️✨ Hope you all enjoy this rough quick doodle (2 days lol) I will draw more of our favorite rebels soon enough, leading into the new year ✨🙂↕️
(WOW two arts in one day, so proud of me uwu)
“This is your Trial, Ahsoka.”
Kind of laughing, kind of kicking myself, kind of marveling at the way that I knew, I knew that Ahsoka S2 would contain a Jedi Trial, but at no point in time had I ever considered that it would be Ahsoka’s Final Trial.
Because I thought it would be Sabine’s first.
Because I, rather stupidly, I guess, thought that Ahsoka had already had her Trial in the WBW; and because I thought Sabine had been written as a co-protagonist, I guessed that it would be her turn in S2.
Because I thought that if they were going to completely destroy Sabine's characterization and growth from Rebels, completely abandon her Mandalorian heritage in favor of turning her into a convenient Jedi padawan for Ahsoka, then surely, surely! it would be worth it. They would give Sabine the benefit of a funky vision trial somewhere on Peridea in order to give us a glimpse of what she supposedly endured between Rebels and Ahsoka that made her act so unlike herself in Ahsoka S1, in order for her to heal and grow and move beyond all of the trauma they dumped on her in a footnote, in order for us to know why she chose Jedi training in the first place and to experience with her what she is choosing for her future.
But...uuuhhh. No. No, perhaps not.
Because I keep forgetting that Ahsoka is Ahsoka's story. Sabine is just...also there.
Now, I will say that if the scenes from the trailer that seem to parallel Path of the Jedi truly do parallel it, then there is a chance that we will get visions for both Master and Padawan, just like Kanan and Ezra did when they went to the Lothal temple. Kanan was put back in touch with his Jedi side the first time, and on the second he was knighted in a similar way to what looks like is being set up for Ahsoka. During their two visits, Ezra got his crystal and was commissioned to go to Malachor; but since Sabine already has a crystal/lightsaber, the only purpose I can see in her having a vision is for her to decide whether she wants to continue down the Jedi path or not. As the trailer seems to indicate, is it possible both Sabine and Ahsoka will be given the same choice: Are you a Jedi or not?
I guess we'll see. Maybe I was on the right track, but it's just going to look different than I thought it would. We saw so little of Sabine in the trailer that I wonder if they're hiding important bits about her or if she will have an even lesser role, becoming purely an accessory to Ahsoka while everything she went through to get to and through S1 will be forgotten.
I did have a bit of a moment of, "....Oh are we still on that? Was that.... not.... solved??? Already???" at Anakin's line there.
It shouldn't be hard to see that in George Lucas’ Star Wars, it's a quite well-known fact that children with the innate talent to wield the Force can be identified, their talent nourished by a supportive environment, focusing on not just wielding the Force but on psychological progress, and that the results of such training consistently led to the greater happiness of the children and society-at-large. So, parents (except for the Bardottans, who falsely believed, their children were taken against their will, or communities like the Nightsisters who're concerned only about their own tribe) decide not to deny their children and the galaxy that future, and allow them to be taken to the Jedi Temple and be trained as Jedi Knights, raised to be heroes.
Problem is, many in the fandom, including those who were/are allowed to shape the stories seeking to extend and explain Lucas' canon, are reluctant to subscribe to this idea. They try to frame the life of the Jedi Knight as joyless, loveless and ultimately meaningless, one that is not leading to self-fulfillment but to self-denial, as a potential wasted rather than a potential realized, a life that no one would consent to.
So fucking sad.

My kids look pretty good in the new trailer.
*I GOTTA VENT ABOUT THIS IM SORRY*
Am I excited for Ahsoka S2? Absolutely. I love the Ghost crew, I loved S1, and I LOVE Thrawn in live action (I hate him but I love to hate him).
Am I also absolutely peeved we’re doing Thrawn when Star Wars is too cowardly to recast the OG Falcon Crew and therefore have replaced them with the Ghost crew cause it’s easier? YES. ABSOLUTELY I AM ANGRY.
I’m so tired of seeing the OGs shoved to the side because fans cannot take the idea of them living on in new actors. Because of that, their importance to the Star Wars universe is minimized. Where is Leia? Why isn’t she elbows deep in New Republic politics? Why isn’t Han at the front with Hera, the New Republic’s two best (non-force sensitive for you picky people) pilots and Generals? Why isn’t Luke being called because Ezra has returned? I’ll tell you why, CAUSE THEY’VE DUG A WHOLE WITH THE CGI FACE STUFF AND THEY DON’T WANNA CRAWL OUT OF IT.
And yes, I’m a Han girly, he’s my favourite since I was a kid and it’s not gonna change. I told Timothy Zahn TO HIS FACE how much it meant to be that when he wrote Han he showed off how clever he actually is in the Heir to the Empire trilogy. I’m really worried that they’re going to give some of his stunts to Hera as a “nod” or something. And maybe that’s selfish, but I feel like the fandom forgets how cool the OGs were (and especially how smart Han actually is) in favour of the newer characters cause they simply get more attention because they have more visual content.
I love the Ghost crew, I love Ahsoka, I just miss my guys. I read Heir to the Empire to get more content of the OG Falcon crew, and it saddens me that we won’t get more of them pissing off Thrawn. I stayed up until 2am reading those books because it was the most content I had gotten of them in years. I miss them. Sue me.
Wait people actually unironically thought Ezra and Thrawn were gonna be friends? I thought that was just one of those things where we make jokes about it cause it's funny but don't actually expect it to happen cause it'd be dumb.
Fanon stranded Ezra and Thrawn dynamic (broke): Thrawn tells his backstory and that's apparently enough for Ezra to just forget the whole "destroying his homeworld's environment and firing on innocent civilians" thing and they're suddenly besties now.
Actual stranded Ezra and Thrawn dynamic (woke): That one Ben 10 episode where he's stranded on an unknown planet with a Highbreed and every time he tries to be nice the Highbreed acts like a prissy asshole and calls him a lower life-form and at one point he makes Ben walk ten paces behind him at all times which Ben does but he angrily grumbles about it the whole time.

The more I watch Rebels, the more I begin to appreciate that the liberation of Lothal was a miracle of nothing less than Biblical proportions.
How many people were involved? Ten, fifteen maximum? One of the first of a new generation of Jedi, a Lasat survivor, an Imperial turned Rebel, a Mandalorian and her girlfriend, a pilot and her sicko astromech, a pirate, that kid whose name i forgor, an Ugnaught, and three clone veterans? There's NO way they should have succeeded in completely purging the planet of Imperial presence, but they DID.
They trapped every Imp in the dome by virtue of deception, launched THE Grand Admiral Thrawn into oblivion by making friends with mystical space whales, blasted every Imperial into ashes, and freed Lothal in the span of a few hours with only thirteen people and about two dozen star whales. And because this was only a year or so before the Battle of Yavin, the Empire didnt have the strength to try and take back the planet. This was a feat comparable in my mind to the Maccabean revolt, and now because of Ezras sacrifice and the Ghost crews efforts, Ezras homeworld was freed. The citizens of Lothals capital watched the flight of glowing purrgil and a rain of fire falling from the sky, and they were ALIVE and free.
And they didn't even use the help of the Rebel Alliance, they didn't do it for the Rebellion! They did it for LOTHAL, and if it weren't for Ezras love for his land he may NEVER have had the guts to do it, to refuse Palpatines temptation, to tell Thrawn to stick it, to yeet himself into the unknown cosmos, or to give up everything for his land God damn it God fucking damn it I feel sick
