Can I, uh, a-ask you something?
--@real-zoozve
Sure, what is it?
@hevives asked: â maybe he died of boredom . â for echo!
stumbling across a dead body is perhaps the most familiar thing that's happened to echo in the six months that they've lived in space. it took nearly a week for her to reliably open the doors and turn on the artificial lights. even now, she finds herself spending the bulk of her hours aimlessly wandering the ring, waiting for raven to ask her to move heavy boxes or hold equipment, her strength one of the only useful skills she still has on a floating piece of tek. but this...
the leathered skin of the desiccated corpse is no different than that of the pour souls who'd found themselves lost in azgeda's caves, caught in the frozen wasteland of winter and left to rot. with one knee up, one leg stretched out in front of him, murphy's comment is a real possibility. whether he was left behind or stayed by choice, it's easy to imagine why someone here alone would sit down and never get back up again.
"not the most dignified way to go," echo murmurs, crouching down to inspect the body with a slightly closer eye. everything is worth something here, she's learned. "what did you do with your dead? given how much raven and monty panic over the slightest fire, i can't imagine you burned them."

Closed Starter: Taking Risks
âBynx cruiser spotted at thirty degrees!âÂ
âChrist... Alright, everyone assume combat positions,â Captain Layne ordered, âBurns, I want you on the main gun. If we do this right, itâll be quick and easy.âÂ
The twenty-year-old vulpine did as he was told. He sat down at the console and prepped the shipâs weapon. The other fifteen crew similarly prepared for battle. As soon as the other ship entered the range, Ty fired. The lance beam seemed to slice right through anything it touched, though it only glanced the side of the cruiser. Not to worry, though, the powerful laser was followed by a barrage of many smaller ones, eating away at the Bynxâs shields.Â
Ty bit his lip as he waited for the lance to recharge.Â

An Investigation~Hugo & John
Thereâs only so much Hugo could do with hints and clues; he needed solid evidence; he needed a direct source to make any progress. He found himself heading to a bar where someone who had information tended to frequent. His name was John Watson, and he was supposed to be directly connected to the organization he wanted to know more about.
He stepped cautiously into the bar, but quickly blended in with the people inside. Hugo gave the place a look over before finding the man he was looking for at the front counter. His mind quickly went over a plan of action before he put on his award winning smile and sat next to him causally. It was a crowded bar, making how close he was to him less noticeable. Â
It wasnât long before heâd ordered his own drink and sat there in wait, when he decided to talk to the man it would be more natural. He figured if he wanted to blend in as an inconspicuous person, heâd have to carry on in a regular conversation with John before actually getting any information he needed. So, he said the first thing that came to his mind, âDid you have a rough day too?â
