i think about my close friendships, the most rewarding ones. we consume media, and then immediately pass it on to our communities for them to also enjoy. you say, “oh, i watched this show, i think you’ll really like it,” to your best friend over facetime, and pretty soon she watches it, and brings back another show for you this time, or an album, or anything else that made their brain light up and think of you.

the first thing we want to do with joy is spread it amongst the people we love. one of the best love languages is swapping media and showing a little bit of yourself behind your cracked ribs.

all of that love, and caring for others is as innate in our biology as it is to hunt, feed, kill, and survive.
