After slaving over a hot wacom tablet, I finally figured out what Serrana would look like with different super saiyan transformations!
SSJ: This one came really naturally to me because it’s basically her normal hair but tilted upwards slightly. I try to keep that basic shape throughout so it still looks like Serrana.
SSJ2: Sideburns have achieved true GO NAGAI and also it took me forever to be satisfied with her bangs.
SSJ3: Her bangs have escaped the normal limits of a saiyan’s hairline and ascended accordingly. The muttonchops are solid enough to break a man’s skull, I swear...
SSJ4: MAXIMUM FLOOF!!! Note her eye color and the markings around them. It’s the same coloring as Cell, a callback to her bio-android heritage.

So I’ve got this AU idea where Serrana wasn’t made by Dr. Gero, but was one of the few surviving saiyans after Frieza blew up planet Vegeta. I was thinking Nappa could be her dad? (She looks fuckin BOSS in his armor, though I wasn’t sure which version to use) She’s like a foot taller in this verse as a result, standing at 7′9″.
She still has reddish hair, it’s just darker because any image of Serrana with black hair is CURSED, and I stand by that statement.
Okay here’s some more details on that AU idea I mentioned for Serrana

This version of Serrana is quite different from her main-verse self, as she grew up in entirely different circumstances. Her personality is changed accordingly: She is more “saiyan-like”, acting in a similar manner to Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz at the beginning of the story. (As opposed to her Goku-like, carefree nature in Main Verse)Â
She is notably xenophobic; Excessively proud of her heritage as not just a saiyan warrior, but an elite as well. Serrana will boast about the power of the saiyans compared to other races, totally assured in their superiority. It doesn't help that she's most likely been mocked by Frieza and his soldiers for being a "monkey", conditioning Serrana to double-down on her pride. She certainly couldn’t hide who she was, so instead Serrana chose to wear it as a badge of honor.Â
While what’s left of the saiyans serve under Frieza, Serrana’s loyalty is to her people first and foremost. She’ll hold up appearances when necessary (to do otherwise would be outright suicidal), but Serrana is incredibly protective and devoted to the few remaining members of her race, ESPECIALLY her father and the Prince.
Serrana’s used to having her comrades around, and gets touchy when left to her own devices. She doesn’t like the thought of being alone or separated from what has essentially become her family.
Relationships
Nappa is her father, someone who Serrana deeply loves and respects. She does her best to follow in his example, aiming to make him proud. Serrana grew up on his old war stories, and longs for the days when the saiyans thrived as a force to be reckoned with.Â
The prince of the saiyan remnants, Vegeta is someone Serrana looks to as a leader. He’s a pillar of strength, the peak of saiyan ability, something Serrana strives to match up to. Always ready to prove herself. Her admiration is...less than subtle.
Serrana is an elitist, but she does hold some regard for Raditz. He may be the lowest of the saiyans, but he’s still one of them! She’ll be damned before Frieza and his lackeys make a fool out of him. In Serrana’s eyes, an attack on one of them is an attack on ALL OF THEM. Others have no right to judge a saiyan’s worth.
Serrana is also the baby youngest of the group, being born around the same time as Goku.
This is Xenoverse/Time Patrol Serrana for an AU! I mainly wanted to draw the clothing I had in mind for her, as well as showcase my traditional drawing process. It shows you my WIPs from sketch to linework to coloring.
Notable differences from Main Verse Serrana include:
No scars
Halo (she ded)
Younger
Less muscle
Mute (for the most part)
I’ll explain why in another post, soon enough. There are reasons for these deviations; It’s important to Time Patrol Serrana’s backstory.
It’s partially inspired by various other outfits: Time Patrol Trunks, Xeno Bardock, Goku Black, and Vegeta (Whis training). I could probably stand to tweak the colors a bit, but I hope this gets my ideas across!

Part of Serrana’s aversion to sleeves is the fact she’s really damn warm, so going sleeveless helps her cool off. Like her metabolism and body temperature is unusually high, so she sweats a lot. Not to mention her arms are AWESOME and it would be a crime to cover up those guns.Â

When Serrana got her saiyan armor from Bulma before the Cell Games, she specifically requested to have the sleeves removed.

ALSO, when Krillin and Android 18 got married later on, Bulma had Serrana fitted for a suit. Unfortunately, a young and misguided Serrana felt the need to cut off the sleeves THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING, without telling anyone.Â
Bulma is just, despairing at her fashion-challenged child. Even Goku wasn’t this bad as a kid! Luckily, everyone in the group is good friends and takes it in stride, seeing the humor of it all.Â
Thankfully, Serrana is much better about this as an adult. She knows better than to mess up formal wear. And she looks damn good in a suit, particularly without the suit jacket. Notably, Serrana likes rolling up her sleeves.

Serrana is pretty butch. You’ll never get her into feminine outfits like dresses or skirts. They just don’t suit her body type and they make her feel pretty uncomfortable, like she’s in drag or something.
///ok so I’ve sort of bungled this with Serrana’s “history” and interactions when it comes to Dr. Gero and Dr. Kagasha, but that’s fine. It’s no one’s fault and we can fix it later.Â
Here we go: Serrana does have a serial number like the other androids, and was never actually named Serrana. She chose that name for herself
I don’t know what her number would be, as there’s not a whole lot of flexibility in the android numbers…I was considering Android 21-0, 21-S, S-0 or something like that.
I’m fond of S-Zero, aka Zero. The “s” stands for saiyan, while the “Zero” refers her being Gero’s first bio-android as opposed to a cyborg or artificial human. Not only that, she’s his first exploration into creating new life from scratch, out of completely alien DNA no less!
Note: Zero is also a reference to the Golden Dub of Dragon Ball, which renamed Goku as “Zero.” That’s another reason I’m fond of that name. Bit of obscure trivia for you.
So with that in mind, Serrana was originally known as Zero during her early life. Sometime after she met the Z-fighters, particularly Vegeta, she began to consider alternatives. Namely, she became aware of her heritage, and wanted a proper saiyan name. After some brainstorming, she chose a traditional (perhaps upper class) one, naming herself Serrana (with advice from the saiyan prince).
She does remember her designated title of S-0, but refuses to acknowledge it and grows angry when referred to as such. Serrana is more than a number. Very few people would recall her lab number/name.Â
