What is your character’s name? Do they have a nickname? Anolani Benson Tucker, prefers to be called Lani.

What is your character’s hair color? Eye color? Lani’s a brunet (on the black end of the spectrum) and he has brown eyes.

What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have? He’s known for his dumbo ears. They’re pretty big and it’s noticeable. Lani also has a very charming smile, which he flashes pretty often. Who are their friends and family? Who do they surround themselves with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who do they wish they were closest to? Lani was born to Benson Tucker and Kitt Kalani. His parents are divorced. Lani has two younger half-siblings: Minnie (born from an affair between Benson and his coworker) and Beck (Benson’s child from his second marriage). He has a pretty good relationship with Minnie because they share similar interests, but struggles to relate to Beck since his brother is a sponge for their father’s stodgy ideals. 

Lani’s closest friends are Naoki Anzai and Torsten James Folland. He used to babysit the former, leading to their sibling dynamic. Tor’s more complicated. The two met in high school and bonded over similar family issues (crap dads and separated parents). They remained friends for some time until some drunk makeouts happened. The two agreed to give romance a try in an attempt to understand the new turn in their relationship. Tor and Lani dated for some time, but ultimately Lani came to the decision his feelings were platonic. The ensuing break-up was rough (Tor took it very personally, due to Lani’s tendency to build up every partner as The One) and their relationship was on fragile ground for some time afterwards. But Lani and Tor found they cared about each other too much to call it quits for good; they eventually began to mend their friendship. There’s still plenty of clashes because they are two very different people and Tor is... odd. But they’re clearly both in it for the long haul.  

Where was your character born? Where has she lived since then? Where does she call home? Lani is a native of Hawaii but moved to the main land after his parents separated. He’s lived in California since.

Where does your character go when they’re angry? He doesn’t really go anywhere... but he does retreat on a mental and social level. Lani gets more frustrated than angry and he usually keeps to himself when in a bad mood. The last thing he wants is to snap at someone, so he tries to avoid people until he doesn’t feel as volatile. Do they have a secret? Not anything life-changing or dramatic. Lani’s most secretive about his dick size, just because he’s embarrassed by how big he is.

What makes your character laugh out loud? Lani’s a sucker for puns. He’ll groan over how bad it is but will laugh anyway. Visual puns are more potent than anything verbal. He also laughs at animal videos.

When has your character been in love? Had a broken heart? Lani is one of those people that falls in love easily. He’s in love with being in love, getting caught up in romance in the blink of an eye. He has a lot of fleeting relationships, which frustrates him because he’s always dreamed of finding his One True Love. 

I don’t think he’s suffered as much heart break as he’s caused it. It’s unintentional for sure, but his fairytale beliefs about romance cause a lot of strain in the long run.

What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In her garbage can? Basic stuff like eggs, milk, juice, fruit. Lani also makes bulk meals for the week, so those are individually packaged up inside the fridge for whenever he wants dinner. His bedroom floor likely has clothes, romance novels, and notebooks strewn about. It’s a light mess... one he could clean up if he took the time to do it. His nightstand doesn’t have much of note: a clock/radio, light, and a couple decorative knick knacks. His garbage can has trash... nothing really crazy there. Most of it’s probably paper with failed notes about ships.

Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Do they wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Are they in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or are they wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by their grandmother? Lani will go barefoot if he can get away with it. Otherwise, he wears flip flops or tennis shoes. He prefers sneakers that he can slip on, but he does own a couple pair with smushed heels. All of Lani’s footwear is worn. His shoes aren’t falling apart, but their shabby state is obvious. He hates wearing socks and will avoid doing so when possible. As a result, his socks are all in good condition.

Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for them to throw out? What is difficult for them to part with? Why? He’s pretty good about donating clothes he doesn’t wear often. Obvious trash (old food, irrelevant mail) is easy to pitch as well. What Lani really struggles to get rid of is trash from his hobbies. He has stacks of notebooks dedicated to detailed ship analyses and charts, some of which have duplicate information. But he won’t get rid of it because he thinks they’re important. He has trouble throwing out supplies for DIY projects too, mostly because he believes they’ll still be of use further down the road.

I can’t remember when or where I might have mentioned it, but my first rp was a homestuck// fantroll rp. It was a small, private group but we had enough characters between the four of us to keep things fresh. After that rp ended, I was left with 15+ trolls (I can’t remember the exact number off of the top of my head). And rather than chuck them out, I’ve been slow-developing them over time. 

I’ve had this group of characters for about 5 years and I’m so used to randomly blurting stuff out about them because they’re always on the back of my mind. If you ever see me just talking about a character with zero context, then there’s a large chance it’s one of those older characters.

But! 

Emilio Zapatero  is high-ranking member of a mafia family, having started as a simple hitman. He has the ability to usher spirits into the afterlife, which has caused him to develop an enormous god complex. His narcissism and greed drive the majority of his actions. More than anything he desires power and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Emilio has killed to realize his ambitions and has hurt a number of people to be where he is today. Outwardly he comes off as very suave, if a bit cold. He knows how to charm other people and has an easy time manipulating them for his own devices. 

Weirdly enough, he is a devoted family man. Emilio especially treasures his younger sister Arcelia (an oc belonging to a close friend) and his doting and overprotective nature can come off as incestuous at times. Thankfully his intentions towards his sister are pure... making his unconditional love and respect for her (as well as their parents) his only redeeming quality.

Emilio’s honestly one of my nastiest characters... Human trafficking and sexual harrassment/abuse of a minor are only a small portion of the awful shit he’s done. I have never used him in an active part of an rp because of the lows he is capable of reaching. I’m 100% he would make someone uncomfortable. But Emilio has popped up as an npc whenever I need some sort of antagonist. As of now he’s in Aven as a high-ranking military official. His mask is a white peacock.

I’m slowly planning out a comic that explores his god complex, motivations, and thoughts through his backstory. It’s got religious tones to it, so as of late my Emilio doodles feature things like halos and crosses.

Anolani “Lani” Tucker is thankfully nowhere near as awful as Emilio OTL He’s a sweetie pie, boy-next-door type that donates to charities, loves children, and helps the elderly. He’s very big brotherly in his mannerisms, always looking out for other people. A lot of people come to him for advice because he’s insightful when it comes to others’ feelings.

He’s a hopeless romantic and is on the hunt for The One. Lani has a bad habit of getting involved in relationships at the drop of a hat. But he’s broken more than a few hearts from his enthusiasm... much to his horror and dismay.

He is the Shipper In Chief among my ocs and he goes all out with it... drafting charts and writing essays dissecting the dynamics of his favorite ships. He wants to become a couple’s therapist because he sees it as a natural combination of his big interests (romance and helping people). 

Lani came from a rich family, but his mother’s always kept him grounded. Much to his father’s disgust, he likes working with his hands. It’s very common for him to pick up DIY projects for around the house. He builds architectural models in his spare time.
